Hi Folks, Touchline here from Bedfordshire, UK. Tull my first major music thing in 1976. However now a major stranglers fan for many years, but getting back into Tull again. Have not seen JT since 2010, and find the current TAAB stuff a little "different". I'm not quite up to date with the Martin Barre issue, and my uneducated feeling is that since the early days, IA has dropped musicians at will and I'm now not sure what to make of it?? Hopefully I can get educated on this board. Have just purchased MB's new album, and to be honest it's not my bag! I will always remember Ian's fantastic wit on stage, and my favourite Tull line up was from 1977 - 1980. Other than that, Barrie Barlow was hero of mine. Loved his drumming style. Touchline

You'll be happy to know that the tape played right before Ian and co. starts includes not one, but two Stranglers songs: Peaches and Golden Brown. I really like the Stranglers though. like many, dropped out when Cornwell fled. I still listen to them often...just found a you tube clip that featured Hugh and JJ doing their 'Rat Dance' while performing 'Down in the Sewer'. Priceless and Classic.

Touchline Hello TouchlineBig Welcome to the Forum!! Don't know about educated but you'll certainly get many opinions on everything Tull. I think we've all got a favourite everything be it line up, album or even costume my thoughts are that Ian has contributed so much over the years that even if the line up and musicians had stayed the same we'd still have our favourites. He's on a roll at the moment and promising more to come. Happy you've joined us and feel free to resurrect any thread old or new. Cheers nonrabbit

Many thanks for the kind welcome folks. I have made many good friends in the stranglers world in the "Familyinblack". Hopefully I can do the same here. I'm basically going through my Tull CD's from the 70's & 80's, and discovering again what great albums they were. Especially "Benefit". I won't be purchasing the new release combo of this album, as I feel it's a little expensive for differing versions of the same. More of a collectors thing. However I did purchase Stand Up, TAAB 1 and This Was in that format thingy. Got lost in the 1990's, and I will need to discover a couple of albums from that period. Youtube has had quite a few JT hits from me over the past couple of months. Best Wishes Touchline

T'is a good place to talk all things Tull. Those old albums are best though. But I like listening to Martin and Ian with their current stuff.
Welcome Touchline!
