As a west-coaster, USA, it's funny to look at a post that already has tomorrow's date on it...which reminded me...anyone remember a teeny song fragment, that appeared on a boot or three around the Aqualung/early Brick tours, with choppy guitar...kinda related to Hymn 43...whose few lyrics might have had a chorus more or less 'tomorrow was today'? Nothing of it on Nightcap or 20 year box and not even mentioned when other fragments like Sailor and Hard Headed English General are discussed....any clues you hard core Tullophiles?

I've only ever known it as Tomorrow Was Today and played in concerts during the early seventies. Apparently from the Aqualung sessions, 1971.
Silver lights are flashing all along the motorway -- there's 100,000 travellers [passengers?] who are 21 today. So it's goodnight, stay bright, well it's goodnight, sleep tight, well it's goodnight, don't fight -- tomorrow was today.
Well I'm going down to London town with a wine glass in my hand to celebrate the consciousness of the Universal Man. So it's goodnight, stay bright, well it's goodnight, don't fight, well it's goodnight, sleep tight -- tomorrow was today.

Nice riffy track but seemingly only available live as an intro usually to Hymn 43.

It's a pretty good song, but I think that on Aqualung it would have been the less impressive rocker. But anyway is energic and well played. The version on cup of wonder is live in Essen, Germany 21 January 1972 in case you are wondering It's a great concert

If it's a good song, although as referred above corresponds to Aqualung era, a quick look at my bootlegs I see for the 1st time live in 1971.10.28 - Amphitheater, New Haven, CT, USA (2CD). Always played as an intro to Hymn 43, Some bootlegs exclude "Tomorrow Was Today" as a song on their setlist.

This is one of my boots that I transfered from cassette and my artwork. Still looks good after all these years and if I remember a good sounding recording. Cheers. Brillo (only1um).

Love the "Brillo" signature there only1um! Does Cup of Wonder have this whole bootleg anywhere? Or just the various unreleased tracks. Which are very cool! --Ron--
