Tonight, we will be airing an exclusive interview with Rock in Opposition band Miriodor as well as cuts from their upcoming album, Cobra Fakir. In addition to this, we will also be featuring cuts from Space Gypsy, the new record from ex-Hawkwind windsman Nik Turner, in anticipation of its release on September 24th. Also, we will be celebrating Neil Peart's birthday (Rush) with a very special, rarely played track which demonstrates his early drumming prowess, as well as tracks from Marbin's The Last Chapter of Dreaming - a bluesy fusion band sporting incredible electric guitar and saxophone interplay, and some obscure Steven Wilson from the late 90's. Tune in for all of this and much more! This week, we are proud to present a truly eclectic setlist, with tunes ranging as far back as the late 60's until 2013. We will be featuring tracks from artists who performed at the Rock In Opposition festival over the past weekend, including Faust, Univers Zero, and Panzerpappa, culminating in Guapo's sensational performance of their opus Five Suns at NEARfest 2006. In addition to this, we will also be featuring some classic Canterbury by way of Caravan and Egg, as well as some modern music from The Wrong Object - a Belgian band which started life as a Zappa cover band, before expanding into their own quirky form of progressive rock. Tune in for all of this and much more! Also, if you missed our exclusive interview with Miriodor, you can listen to it here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=_RqYeqeOjzQ

Some great music by Ian Beabout on this link... Check out "Group Creation Project" soundcloud.com/ianbeabout soundcloud.com/ianbeabout/group-creation-project This was composed over a class-created loop made entirely of objects that were found in the studio, including pens, grates, and boxes. I provided the flute, strings samples, and bass samples to my project, while Dan Evick performed electric guitar through a Pignose practice amp that was miked up and reverbed to sound bigger.

Hello everyone! It's been a long time since I posted, but Deep Cuts is still going strong! You can listen to the most recent show (#22) here. It features (among other things), a modern group called Blood Ceremony. Think Benefit-era Tull meets Sabbath meets Fairport, with flute. No joke! www.mixcloud.com/progrockdeepcuts/progrock-deep-cuts-episode-22/Also, if you would like to receive my Press Releases, drop me a line at progrockdeepcuts@gmail.com and I'll add you to the mailing list! Ian

PROGROCK.COM PRESENTS.... Ian Plays Ian!
On Tuesday, April 15th, Ian Beabout will be commandeering the daily New at Noon hour on www.progrock.com to bring you brand new music from Jethro Tull's Ian Anderson. New at Noon runs every day from 12-1:00 PM (CDT) on progrock.com. It is designed to feature only the most recent progressive rock and related releases and is picked at random by the station's auto feed.
However, on April 15th, Prog Rock Deep Cuts host Ian Beabout will be handpicking new music from Ian Anderson's upcoming solo album HOMO ERRATICUS and presenting it live on air, complete with anecdotes and lesser known facts about Ian Anderson and Jethro Tull's career.
The upcoming release, Anderson's first in two years, is a concept album following the sagas of a man struck by delirium who dreams of his past lives. Beginning with his origins as a nomadic Neolithic settler, we trace his development as an Iron Age blacksmith, a Christian monk, and even glimpse forward into his future.
All of this is backed by Anderson's distinctive flute playing and his talented and road-tested group of musicians who are about to embark on a HOMO ERRATICUS and THE BEST OF JETHRO TULL tour of Europe, the United States, and all over the world. It is not to be missed!
Fans are encouraged to tune in live and join the chat room for this very special event. Beabout, a life-time Tull devotee with a unique passion for Anderson's music, will also be taking requests and answering any inquiries about this one-time-only event at progrockdeepcuts@gmail.com.
Stream live here: www.streamlicensing.com/play/player.php?sid=1855&stream_id=3143
