Very cool! Thanks so much to everyone who played a part in arranging this, to maddog for including my question, and of course to Ian himself for participating.

And to my mind, the Q&A contained a classic Ian Anderson quote, one to rival any that have been published previously. He's managed to put into 31 words something others would have made into a full page article in one of the tabloid newspapers.
Dangerous chaps, children. They have this frightening tendency to grow up. Anyway, the innocence of adult relationships with children has passed. Even Harry Potters has had his kit off by now.

"Yes - start with a finely diced Hungarian wax chopped into a salad to bring some aded zest. Then progress to the humble Cayenne. Then the Habanero and finally, the Bhut Jolokia or the Trinidad Scorpion. Then patiently wait to die. Painfully..."
Thanks Ian

When playing F# or Gb my teacher likes me to use the proper fingering of 4th finger but its so much easier with the 3rd like in a recorder. Something like Boris Dancing is really easy with the 3rd. With the 4th it's like an exercise in proper technique. Do you prefer one way over the other? What do you recommend? Thanks I won't tell my teacher you said so.

Must admit I had to look up meaning of "kit off", and love the quick-witted answer from Ian. Question was not fully answered, but perhaps Ian's wheels are turning...a collection of children's stories by I.A. of J.T...might sell a few units. So true about lost innocence in todays children. Sadly, many bedtime stories have been replaced by reality t.v.

Hi and welcome to the Jethro Tull Forum koifla. I'me sure you've had a good look around the place - there's lot here to see. The Q & A with Ian Anderson is now finished but I'm sure there may be some folks here who can answer your fingering question. Not being a flute player myself I can't comment. MD

Hi Ian, I'd like to ask you about how you teach the band new material. I'm curious if you have all the parts in your head and you show each band member what they are to play or do you simply have the basic song and they write their own parts. For example the guitar part between the intro and main song in Minstrel in the Gallery, is that you? Did you teach it note by note to Martin B? or did you just say, 'stick something in there' Peter

I have read all the questions you asked Ian Anderson, and his answers and found it great idea by the forum to do this! I really wanted to tell Ian something when I met him but it was not possible with so many people trying to approach him, there was no time. So, i would like to ask you if there is here a possibility of another one Q&A, eh? Are there other new members that would like too this happens? I really don't know if there is a person that knows Ian and can help with something like this but i thought of just make a question. (one to you and one to Ian Anderson )

I actually preferred the Q&A with him in 2009... yikes....eleven years ago! jethrotull.proboards.com/thread/1165/ian-anderson-february-2009-answersEven the last one was seven years ago,and there's been plenty happening in Ian's world and the world of Tull since then. It's a good idea to have another Q&A, probably not this year maybe early '21? Plenty of time to think up some good questions because as you can see from the last ones, he can be facetious at times so the trick might be to keep it light and short but also get him to reveal.....something.
