More, same: ;D The electrician has been told to make the spotlights brighter. There's one seat in the circle, five hundred million in the stalls. Simply everyone will be there...Ian Anderson Announces One-Off 'Thick As A Brick' Show At London's Royal Albert Hall After the enormous success of his 2012 UK tour, Ian Anderson announces a very special one-off show at London's Royal Albert Hall on 30th June. 'Thick as a Brick' returns "home" to the prestigious London venue after 41 years since it was first performed there. The gig is part of an extensive world tour taking the Jethro Tull icon to Europe, USA, Japan and South America; This will be the only 'Thick As A Brick' UK date in 2013 and tickets are expected to sell fast! Ian Anderson says: “So - bugger me, but it’s back to the Albert for a recreation of the 1972 performance. If only Victoria could be there too. She might have rather liked it. In a funny sort of way. I might try to get a few guests in too if they are not washing their hair. But I will have shampoo at the ready and a hot Fray Bentos pie at backstage catering. That might do it. At least I get to sleep in my own bed afterwards. Hope to see you there. Bostock rools. Kiss, kiss." The ‘Thick as a Brick’ show is a two part Prog bonanza where Anderson and his band will be performing his Jethro Tull’ 1972 classic in its entirety, followed by recent material from its 2012 sequel. Both albums will be performed as recorded, seamless 55 minutes long tracks with a 20 minute intermission. Video projections and theatrical elements will offer a background for this unforgettable milestone in the history of rock. ‘Thick as a Brick’ was a concept album based on a poem written by fictitious 10-year-old boy Gerald Bostock, behind which hides Anderson himself. ‘Thick as a Brick 2’ was written and released by Anderson as a celebration of the original’s 40th anniversary, and examines the possible different paths that the precocious young schoolboy might have taken later in life; alter-ego characters are used to illustrate the infinite potential twists and turns of fate and opportunity. Ian Anderson 'Thick As A Brick' 2013 UK Tour Dates are as follows: June 30th - London Royal Albert Hall Ian Anderson Tickets are on sale from 9am on Friday 1st February, priced at £30 and £35 for Circle, £42.50 Front Circle, £47.50 for Arena floor, stalls and second tier - £55 for Boxes and there are 30 special VIP Arena Floor tickets available at £150 each. The rocker first performed the one-track album at the prestigious building more than 40 years ago and he is now preparing to relive the gig with an identical concert later this year (13). As part of the show, Anderson will also perform the album's sequel, Thick as a Brick 2: Whatever Happened to Gerald Bostock?, which was released last year (12). The concert will take place on 30 June (13). And me, I'm here to sing along, and I'm not concerned with righting wrongs, just asking questions that belong without an answer. But God is laughing up his sleeve as He pours himself another cup of tea...
GOOD MORNING

I'll be trying my best to book seats on the 31st. £150 is a bit too rich for me, so it will have to be the £47.50 stalls

Just managed to get tickets for "Jethro Tull's Ian Anderson" at the Albert Hall. I note we've now gone from "Ian Anderson" to this - no surprises as to the next step....
Maddogfagin & I will be there along with Mrs Sealion & Master Sealion, maybe we could meet up with other forum members prior to the show? Time & place TBA.
Incidentally it was really easy getting tickets from Ticketline on 0844 888 9991 so if you haven't got yours yet go for it!
Really looking forward to the show, I think the last time I saw Tull at the Albert Hall was in 1980 on the "A" tour - time flies!

I'm going with Ray's oft stated wish that Jeffrey Hammond-Hammond be the surprise guest to make the 'this next sequence' speech. How cool would that be? A more realistic guess would be Anna P. live instead of Skype.

I'm going with Ray's oft stated wish that Jeffrey Hammond-Hammond be the surprise guest to make the 'this next sequence' speech. How cool would that be? A more realistic guess would be Anna P. live instead of Skype. Yeah Bernie, the "rhythmic link sequence" speech, I am marking it as likely that Ian remembers and would like its inclusion as well. We mostly perceive that Mr Hammond is not the most outwardly sociable type guy where it concerns communicating with thousands of live bodies, (and now nearly 4 decades removed from this brief period of "behaviors" in his life) but was willing to serve the cause be it reading the London Times with his back turned in the Marquee days, or providing a circus diversion on the Brick tour. A link to the original verbage. www.tullpress.com/brick/brick14.htm I must offer as Tull analist that in the 7 or 8 recordings I might have of the TAAB tour never recall the use of the word now, could be wrong. Marking my favorite point in these 41 personal years of live Tullish, that moment would make my top 5 and pressed, would be my single favorite. To me the Tull psychology distilled into a few golden moments, absolutely and utterly unique. And, at 16, not knowing it was coming, and being dosed and attentive to the gills, it struck its mark true, helped to disease me for life, an absolute wtf moment.

Bostock rools. Ian Anderson says ‘So – bugger me, but it’s back to the Albert for a recreation of the 1972 performance. Kiss, kiss.” ;D People do not get a whole lot more mature than one aspect of Ian Anderson, the pragmatic Ian, in place as long as I have known of him. But Patti, its the guy who would think to say, at the age of 65, not Bostock rules but Bostock rools, that the child in him has never died, and, in part using him as a guide light of sorts thru my own years, further confirmation that a part of you never needs to grow up.
