Considering the future of Martin Barre and his Band, does that make New Day a one year wonder? From the interview in New Day magazine he speaks of financial difficulty in keeping some members. Now that this tour will be a Jethro Tull Classics theme, I wonder what will happen to his new album? Of course he can always do both unless the new songs are not as appealing. The nightclub circuit can be rather interesting. I'd love a cold King Goblin please. www.triposo.com/poi/N__367861195

It will be looked upon as a very sad old day if this is the way Jethro Tull ends.

Martin would have no problem with knowing the music but if you're a musician in MB's band then board and lodging must come into the equation and the outskirts of Plymouth is not really the centre of Britain. It may, and I do stress the word, have been a better bet to find some local musicians, good at their job and young and musically hungry to perform with Martin, to form the backbone of the band. After all, Ian has done that with the likes of Florian and that seems to be successful in the context of The IA Band. I just hope that Martin's tour is successful and pulls in the crowds but small venues such as the Wharf in Tavistock, albeit a cracking place to see live music where there's 200 sitting or 400 standing, doesn't really tally with the large stadia that Martin was playing in just a few years ago. www.tavistockwharf.com/event.php?eventid=1910

Stirring up the conversation: Following the pied piper; New sig: I'm here for Ian Anderson...most days...Jethro Tull on others. Let's burn the Martin Barre threads. >laugh< It will be looked upon as a very sad old day if this is the way Jethro Tull ends. To be sad is a mad way to be. Cheer up Tootull, there will be a new Martin Barre album. Jim, I told you my view of Ian Anderson is Jethro Tull. lol - dig out that PM. I'm not mad, sad. ;D I'm talking from an Ian Anderson (lyrics) fanatic's point of view. You can start to feel crazy about how this Tull story is unfolding. <No heroes - watch out for following zeroes>>>

I understand. Sort of. The problem with me is I see a silver lining behind every cloud. History is great teacher. I'm less worried about names as much as musical innovation and energy. The Tull mystique is fun to play with and Martin can use it to his advantage anytime. That should not diminish any music he creates on his own. So we shall see. All this talk about the "End of Tull" is hard to believe with so much coming out this year. I've got more Tull bootlegs plus 5.1 Remixes to last a lifetime. The smile on my face is genuine. Let's Party! ;D You too Martin.

I'm not sure that Martin has done a good job to form his band, I'm sure Maart glad to accept play keyboards, also others former members of Jethro Tull can join him in this adventure, I know his friendship with Barrie Barlow or Clive, in bass no problem with Jonathan Noyce, and vocalist definitely seems to be Dan Crisp, just need a good flute player. Martin and Maart last July in Gavà (Barcelona)I think it was a mistake to play last year without a keyboardist, I hope this year rectify. I think a band with former members would be much more attractive to the public Of course my best wishes to Martin on this year, I don't want this end this way

Maybe a circus ring, a disco floor. Do like we do. And do some more. A crowded office or a party night. Step into joy. Walk into light.

Thanks tootull, I imagined, apparently is a global expression ;D 2013! The new Tull more alive than ever! is therefore not applicable

About the Tull theme... you're right, but at least here talk about Tull is ingenious, I know other forums where you are burned at the stake by arguing about this
