WANTED FOR 2009Cold Flame, based in northern England are looking for a new frontman primarily for their Tull tribute shows for 2009. A hard task admittedly as Ian Anderson's are not in abundance but the band would like to continue playing full scale Tull tribute shows on an occasional basis. Following dates already booked for this Autumn in England, flautist/singer Peter Cheetham who has been with the band for 10 years is leaving the band at the end of the year to pursue other interests. Ideally the band are seeking someone who can play both a variety of instruments of which flute would be essential and sing.Living within the north west area of England would be a distinct advantage. Anyone who may be interested please email info@cold-flame.co.uk or log onto the main Cold Flame website at www.coldflame.com

Yes Col I help them out and am friends with them though must confess that I really like the band's original music as well. Well spotted but yes if this forum can help to get Flame a new flautist that would be cool.

Hey you lot it would seem that Cold Flame really are serious about finding a new flautist...just lifted this message posted on their website today.Guess someone knows someone who knows someone. Here is the advert for the forum people to read.
FLAUTIST/VOCALIST WANTED
For the last decade north Derbyshire based Cold Flame have performed their Jethro Tull tribute show in a number of premier venues in the UK and in Europe and in so doing have supported Blodwyn Pig and Wild Turkey, played with ex Tull drummer Paul Burgess and been special guests at The 2005 Italian Tull Convention. In 2007 during their performance at Weyfest they were joined by the superb violin virtuoso Anna Phoebe who as many will know has been guesting with Tull over the last two years.Drummer Phil even has the added distinction of playing duet with Clive Bunker.
Cold Flame are acknowledged as one of the leading tributes in their genre with an acclaimed two hour plus show packed with Tull classics and theatrics. Starring in a key role for much of this time has been flautist and singer Peter Cheetham. Owing to work, family and other musical committments Peter has now decided to take a break from Cold Flame for the forseeable future.
As a result Cold Flame are now looking to recruit a new frontman specifically for Jethro Tull tribute performances. An ability to play flute to a good standard together with an ability to sing are obvious essentials whilst an ability to play acoustic guitar/mandolin would prove extremely useful. Whilst the band realise that new Ian Anderson's don't grow on trees nevertheless the guys are committed to finding someone who would relish the opportunity to perform Jethro Tull music both in the UK and in Europe on an occasional basis. The successful candidate would preferably need to live within a reasonable distance of Manchester, England and have reliable transport. If you or someone you know fits the bill, Cold Flame woulds love to hear from you.
