For those of you into Home theater and surround sound, the DVD that this clip is from is amazingly well done and I can't recommend it enough. I just watched it again today actually. From the DVD: Peter Gabriel, Growing Up Live, I present Digging in the Dirt

A few more new things I am digging alot.....There seems to be loads of brilliant new prog bands kicking around at the moment I think it's definitely about time for a prog revival so some of these bands can get the recognition they deserve..... Von Hertzen Brothers - Bring Out the Sun Ayreon - Amazing Flight Even if Ayeron's sci fi rock isn't to your taste check out the awesome ending to this song from 7.30 onwards, serious Tull style flute ;D

magenta, another great band who will probably never get the major success they deserve. Still on the bright side it does mean you can have a night of excellent music for a modest layout!

Brought my camera into a show with me again recently... This very small Indy band I dig called Zox. I've mentioned them before. I only shot a couple of tunes because I wanted to watch them. First time I saw them live and they were excellent.

Beautiful song "Persuasion" by Richard Thompson and his son Teddy (who sang the Brokeback Mountain song) recorded Live at Scottish Television - the visual isn't perfect but the audio is.

Bit of shameless self-promotion here...
I recently produced a music video for a video contest being hosted by Steven Wilson (of Porcupine Tree) to promote an EP of remixed tunes from his solo album. I read a few interviews with the man himself, tried to get a feel for what he digs, which he would describe as "surrealism" and "abstract". I mostly consider it nonsensical and weird myself, so I just went with tha idea. I just tried to make sure the stuff I shot was framed nicely with good lighting and figured I'd just throw it all together in editing. Funny, when you attempt to make something abstract and nonsensical, you fall into patterns and themes develop... Or at least thats what happened here. It doesn't make much sense, but in some ways, it does...
anyways, here's my video for the remix of Steven Wilson's "Harmony Korine"

The shots were good particularly like the cityscape ones! Well done - keep you in mind

Might be a bit of kids stuff, might be Queen, but still more enjoayable than anything the X-factor dishes out - share it and help stop the X-factor getting to No 1 this Christmas...and this is my nomination for the greatest youtube [christmas] compilation ever.

Beardfish. Retro enough to please even those old grouches who think all modern music is rubbish but not retro enough to just be a pastiche of 70s bands ;D
They are one of my favourite bands from the new wave of Scandinavian Prog bands (which is a genre I've just made up! There does seem to be loads of brilliant new bands coming from that part of the world)

I've just heard about this lady and to quote Kate Bush "Wow" apparently her guitar playing has influenced just about everyone. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sister_Rosetta_Tharpe"I hear Rosetta singing in the night Echos of light that shines like stars after they're gone And tonight she's my guide as I go on alone With the music up above" lyrics from a song written by Sam Phillips about her and recently recorded and performed by Robert Plant and Diane Krauss
