FYI: US Tull fan convention now looks likely. Living with the Past has been confirmed for the beautiful new Dickens Opera House in CO for Sat May 18th. We are looking at regular tickets as well as VIP tickets (limited #) for those who wish to arrive early, visit with other long-time Tull fans, get a free DVD CD set of the band, hear the band's soundcheck and meet them, select their own table with nametag, and then go downstairs to a great, high quality restaurant (with wine vault) to have dinner, then come back upstairs later for the show. This is THE nicest place to see a show. We're going to plan a first-class event, so git ready! Capacity is 300 so this will sell out...it is sure to be one helluva show. Springtime in the Rockies...some Tull...good friends....hmmm.....more info soon. Send suggestions or other input for this event to info@universerecords.com Watch our FB page for updates. www.facebook.com/livingwiththepastband

Good work lwtp
From one convention organiser to another - hope you have a great one!
Your post landed on the 16th anniversary of our famous "Bloody Gravesend" event in 1996.
All the best.

Good work lwtp From one convention organiser to another - hope you have a great one! Your post landed on the 16th anniversary of our famous "Bloody Gravesend" event in 1996. All the best. Zob Ah yes Zob, bloody Gravesend of fond memory. Mind you in hindsight it was a great day and there are plenty of folks who'd wished they'd been there if only for the warm beer and . . . warm beer. Would it beat Milton Keynes or Feltham? I wouldn't know but the meeting of likeminded fans and friends was a bonus which I fondly remember to this day as is also meeting many of the band members, both past and present, who turned up on the day. Must do it again sometime

Maddog I hadn't thought of it in terms of beating any of the others to be honest - I reckon each event was unique in its own right, and for its own reasons. Took a bit of putting together though as you know, and I do still have fond memories of the process if not necessarily the day itself! Another one? Zob.

I always had a great time "doing my bit" for the cause but the actual day always went too fast and I always found I'd missed something that had been going on. Wish we had the use of the internet back in those days as it would have been a great deal of help to us. As for another one - well there's a small amount of wonga kept in the Convention bank account that I look after, so who knows . . . . MD

JETHRO TULL FAN CONVENTION INFORMATION - SAT. MAY 18, 2013 Date/Time: The date of the main event is Saturday May 18th. Showtime is 8:15. General admission doors open at 7:00 (200 tix). VIP admission is 5:30 (Only 100 VIP tix available).
Tix available via Paypal at lwtp@universerecords.com or phone at the Dickens Opera House.
Note: There will be an additional Living with the Past show the night before on Friday May 17th...venue TBA. It is also possible that the Friday show might be at the Dickens Opera House, but most likely will be in Denver. Watch our website (www.universerecords.com) or our FB page for updates.
Convention Venue: Dickens Opera House - Longmont, CO (303) 834-9384 - 300 Main St
We have selected the beautiful, historic, Dickens Opera House for this special event. The Opera House has a full bar, food service, and a full restaurant downstairs that offers a wide variety of high quality choices at reasonable prices. The venue has a large stage, great sound, outstanding service, and a first class atmosphere with tables and comfortable booths. Hotel: Hampton Inn - Longmont, CO (303) 772-2554 - 850 S. Main St When calling for hotel reservations tell them you are with the Jethro Tull Convention group...they are giving us special rates on whichever type room you choose ($109/ 2 queens, $118 king)....great hotel, continental breakfast included, fitness center, pool, free high speed internet, etc. The hotel is on the same road as the Dickens Opera House. There are also many other hotels in the area, but the Hampton is very nice and close to the venue. If you need help looking into other options let us know. The Super 8 Motel is 3.5 mi from the venue...$69.99 nt....2446 N. Main St., 303-772-8106.
Directions: From the Denver Airport, as you exit the airport get off at the 470, and stay on that till you get to I-25 (towards Fort Collins)....stay right off that exit and get onto I-25. Take I-25 north and get off at Exit 240 (Longmont) and go left. Take 119 west until you get to Longmont, and make a left at S. Main St. The hotel is 0.2 miles on the left side of S. Main St. There are many stores and restaurants in the area. There is a large plaza area at the corner of 119 and S. Main with all the popular restaurants, Walgreen's etc. The Opera House is 0.9 miles north of the hotel.
VIP ticket holders can access the venue at 5:30PM Sat night for a meet and greet with other fans. Enter at the side door of the Opera House on 3rd St. The first 50 VIP attendees will receive a free copy of the LWTP with Dave Pegg Jethro Tull 40th Anniversary DVD CD set. Once in the venue, you may select the table/booth of your choice...put your name on the table name tag, which will hold your table until show time. Special Jethro Tull - provided door prizes will be drawn at this time. The band will be busy setting up during this time and will do their sound check for the show. At 6:30PM, you can either depart the hall, or stay there and mingle if you prefer. Dinner is served upstairs so you can stay there and eat if you wish, or you can also have dinner at the restaurant downstairs. The doors will open for the show at 7:00PM, and the show will start around 8:15, so you will need to be back in the hall by 8:15....your table will be reserved so there's no need for you to get there early unless you choose to, or of course you can just stay in the opera house the whole time if you wish. Other Stuff: You are in Colorado, so the sky's the limit as to what you might want to do while on your Tull vacation.
If you wish to see Boulder, it is 15-20 minutes from the hotel...just head west on 119. If hiking is in your plans, Hall Ranch is very beautiful and not far away (it's an easy hike...not steep). Just take S. Main St. north for 3.5 miles till you get to Highway 66. Make a left and head towards the mountains...go through the town of Lyons and make a left at Rt 7....Hall Ranch is a short drive up Rt 7 on the right. Rt 7 is a spectacular drive through the canyon, so you might want to take a drive up that road to see amazing scenery...there are places to stop along the way. If you prefer to see Rocky Mountain National Park in Estes, make a right in Lyons at take Rt 36 into Estes. As for restaurants, there is a wide variety. If you want to get some real authentic Mexican food, Efrain's is awesome and close to your hotel near the Safeway on 119. The venue for the gathering also has a great restaurant, good quality food and drinks, and reasonable....(prime rib dinner is $17.) There are many fast food places around, and lots of restaurants in the plaza area near the hotel.
We recommend you do a little exercising a few weeks before your trip to get in shape if you need to to handle the altitude and thinner air....it'll make your trip more fun. Also drink plenty of water in Colorado to stay hydrated..the air is very refreshing here but is also very dry!
If you have any suggestions on how we can add to the gathering please let us know. If you should need any assistance during your stay, we'll be glad to help. Call us anytime at 720-217-1472. You can email us as well at lwtp@universerecords.com.
Happy Tulling, and enjoy your stay! Ray, Carol, and Living with the Past
Welcome back my friends to the show that never ends....ooops, that's a different band, but you get the idea!

All is on track for the US Convention on May 18th. Tull-provided prizes and lots of hard core Tull fans together in Colorado. Ah yes, Springtime and Tull in the Rockies. Ian will not be doing a Colorado show this next tour, so this'll be the only chance to see live Tull jams in CO this year.
Here's a video just put up of one of the LWTP guitarists, Ron LoCurto, in a recent jam session in Nashville. Wait till you see what he has in store for the convention jams....

From: www.facebook.com/LivingWithThePastBandHere's the latest on the May 18th U.S. Jethro Tull Convention show in Colorado:
- Jethro Tull is in full support of the event, and though they will be on tour in the EU at that time, they have provided several door prizes that will be dispersed to lucky drawing winners throughout the night. Other surprises are in store. - Tickets are now on sale for $15, and VIP tickets can be purchased for $30 ...for those who wish to arrive at the venue early and select premium seating for the show. The band will perform sound check at that time, and meet and greet along with the Tull fans who have arrived in advance at 5:30PM. VIP ticket holders will have access to special door prizes, and can place their name on provided-tags to reserve their table while they then have dinner, etc. General admission doors open at 7:00PM. - Prizes will also be handed out randomly throughout the night for all ticket holders. - Living with the Past will perform two sets of Jethro Tull music starting promptly at 8:15, including songs that they have never done before, selected just for this occasion...in fact, Jethro Tull themselves have only performed these songs live a couple times. - This show will be videotaped by a high level production crew for possible commercial use, including potential airing of the show on AXS TV, so we encourage folks to get roudy and make lots of noise! You're on candid camera! - Living with the Past is under consideration for a special show on AXS TV later this year. Also, the Apr 27th show in Buffalo NY will also be part of this convention series, so Tull fans attending that show will also be eligible for Tull prizes, etc. - We'll keep you all posted on new developments, but rest assured that these two shows are going to be something very special. Thanks for your interest. Let's rock! LWTP

Correction? Jethro Tull will NOT be on tour in the EU at that time. They must be mistaking "Jethro Tull's Ian Anderson" for Jethro Tull. tsk tsk
Next year I want to attend the "Jethro Tull's Ian Anderson Convention" Yeh , boy!
