I really enjoyed the show. Ticket I sold went to a gentleman that saw Tull back in 70-71 in bars.... He was totally appreciative.
We had dead center 10th row so sound view was perfect. I enjoyed how Ian took the show to a more theatrical aspect vs straight concert. one person yelled I am not here to watch movies during the opening segment.... Other wise the crowd was polite and attentive throughout.
TAAB 1 was a album I almost wore out. I definately realized I didnt flip the album over as often as I thought as side 2 was really enjoyable with surprises.
Ian sounded great for what he is able to sing and his persona (sorry dont remember his name) was excellent with his voice and his character acting. It added to the overall performance.
I like the way they start the show with players dressed up as street cleaners etc. Also some of the segways etc were well executed.
TAAB 2 which i decided not to hear before the show was enjoyable. Not many artist will take the chance on playing a hit album followed by a new album hardly anyone there had heard.
when he mentioned Frank Zappa I really went back in time and started to compare Ian to Frank. There is really a lot of similarities
in their composing style etc... and with Ian conducting the show.
I would say average age of crowd was 50+ with not many bringing their kids along as in other concerts I attend.
It is nice Ian ends with Locomotive Breath which lets the crowd leave dancing. Would rate it a 4 star show....
