Hello everyone. Tull fan from Kent (UK), my favourite album being Minstrel in the Gallery, and my least favourite 'not' Under Wraps. Hi vonbek and welcome to The Jethro Tull Forum. Enjoy having a good look around the place and look forward to reading your posts and thoughts about the band. Btw, where in Kent are you from - lived in the county myself for a few years when I was in my teens. Maddog/Graham

Just my way of drawing you into the conversation John....If I don't read any posts from you for awhile I poke a stick into your Canada cage.

Just my way of drawing you into the conversation John....If I don't read any posts from you for awhile I poke a stick into your Canada cage. I knew. I know. Minstrel in the Gallery is still my favourite album too. Welcome vonbek. And if sometimes I sing to a cynical degree it's just the nonsense that it seems.

Thanks. I'm in Greenhithe. I discovered Tull in my teens with the This is Not Love single. Lived in the Goudhurst/Lamberhurst area for five years in my youth - a wonderful part of the UK. A question - what was it that turned you into a Tull fan in "your youth"? It's an interesting thought - maybe I can persuade the younger members of my family to do the same thing

Possibly the first thing was the quirkiness of the singing style and lyrics. It was all just a bit different to mainstream rock (at the time I was into bands like Iron Maiden and Black Sabbath- still am actually), but after that it was simply the quality of the music and lyrics that kept me hooked. You could try them out on songs like Thinking Round Corners and Fat Man, maybe?

Thinking, every time I read Thinking Round Corners I must reply. This track has made it to quite a few CDR comps. Certainly a favourite here. Repeating:) A TAAB concert sold me on Tull.
cheers!

I'd only put Roots and DotCom ahead of Catfish for 90s Tull ! And SLOB if we're counting solo ! Oh wait...that's everything not live or compilation in the 90s...
