I want to like this...I swear, I really do...but it's clunky and sorta boring....maybe better drum sound, and lead guitar instead of sax would help. I'm not even completely sure if I can identify Barre vs O'May in some parts.......I'm STILL going if this tour comes to the Western hemisphere.

Those guys are keepin it real or somethin. Manly Tull. Workout Tull. Deep knee bend Tull.Tull to work on your quads or delts or pect oid oids, (god knows you lot probably need that or a male brazierre) My psychotic ex boss used to like to work out to Metallica in the nineties, he was a classmate of Hillary Clinton and Steve Goodman. Pretty sure neither of them were/are psychotic, though both were/are Cubs fans.

Still think they need a keyboard maestro along the lines of Andy Giddings to "flesh" out the sound and . . . learn the words and not read them from scraps of paper. Now I know the members of a classical orchestra read the music from "scores" in front of them but this is rock 'n' roll for f**ks sake.

Ray, I know it's mean and cruel and immature...but didn't Ron Santo end up like the kinight in Monty Python that wanted to keep fighting after loss of limbs? They kept rolling him into the broadcast booth no matter how many amputations, right? The last Cubs I liked were Ferguson Jenkins and Ken Holzman.

Got to see Ronnie close up alot cuz my Dad was working 2 doors down, helped him navigate the stairs thru the Cubs offices once. Man the guy was totally full of life and looked healthy, usually tanned, with hairpiece of course. Wonderful on air emotional explosions out of him, completely unprofessional, good stuff, too bad he got in the Hall of Fame one year after passing, though he would not admit it, he wanted it so bad. Only Fergie and Holtzman. I do know from my once intimate viewpoint that it was said Holtzman was a $h1te tipper, not particularly well liked, successful financier, excellent pitcher, mostly for the A's. So many good guys have played for the Cubs, thinking particularly of Mark Grace, Bill Buckner, Rick Sutcliffe, Ryne Sandberg, Sarge Mathews, we do nice guys better than anybody, we just don't win. And how could you not mention Ernie Banks and Billy Williams. AHHHHHH!

Holzman had cultural restrictions around tipping....Fergie got busted with a ton of weed, didn't he?

Yes Bernie, when he was on the Red Sox, I believe with Luis Tiant and one other name player, going into or coming back from Toronto on a road trip, I believe with hashish.

My own thoughts, 'review' if you like, of the clip.....
OK, the sound rec isnae the best balance etc - but it musta been a power 'in the room' by my judgement. I'm not that enamoured with wailing sax going 'mental' rather than making a better 'choice' of notes - just too random for me. Same complaint of the (almost disappeared in the mix) guitar solo (presumably the bootleg was done well to one side of the PA and didnae pick up the 'other side') A million notes per minute never impressed me - that must be the other guy? - Mart was always more melodic, his improvisations staying closer to the chord structure and melody, or creating new melody with well chosen notes, IMO. But I aint dissin these guys - I can tell they're real good at what they do! - just aint my preference, is all. Drummer sounds like he's real good - tho the recording, done this way, obviously does his contribution as regards 'drum sound' no favours. certainly makes 'em too prominent. Bass is fine by me (well, look who it is!) - vocals acceptable/to quite good considering who-went-afore! Agree with MadDog - a good keybd player would be more useful?
I think Mart is holding back too much - over-generous in letting the other players take the spot - but after all, that's just basing everything on the one track heard! Love the song choice! A great fave of mine. Mostly though - it makes me wanna go see 'em the flesh!

I'll go if the tour is with in reach of me. But I'd like to see Martin take off on his direction with his music and some new from him and not do so much of the Tull, they are not Tull. I'm very torn as Tull is not Tull either it is IA Band... Just saying..
