APP ages little over time, the thing is just not made of iron oxide. Geological Survey of Canada has rated it "not the hardest of rocks but the lack of interstitial attentive gaps leaves it quite resistant to random trend collisions and clinical acid spills. We did not test the hare." Too funny - too true!

Very true. So many odd dynamics in the album, it's hard to compare it to anything else which sort of creates a timelessness around it.

Putting aside the old problem of whether 'best' means 'favourite' or even 'the one I play most often', I've gone for Benefit. And just to reinforce my verdict (for my own peace of mind), I've mapped out my definitive top-to-bottom 'Tulltimate' list of the bona-fide studio catalogue:
Benefit Songs from the Wood Under Wraps Thick as a Brick Stand Up Heavy Horses Too Old to Rock ‘n’ Roll Aqualung WarChild Minstrel in the Gallery A Passion Play Stormwatch A Dot Com This Was Crest of a Knave Roots to Branches Christmas Album Broadsword and the Beast Rock Island Catfish Rising
