Now a question for all you Tull record collectors. I have a vinyl LP, issued by Chrysalis in 1975 called "The Chrysalis Compendium - Hardly Beginner's Luck". Opening side has LITP/Wond'ring Aloud/Locomotive Breath edited together - there's a segment from each song. The album sleeve states "Demonstration Record. Not for sale" and the UK contact address is "Chrysalis Music Ltd, 108 Park Street, London W1". Other artists include Chrysalis favourite such as Leo Sayer, Alvin Lee, Gary Booker & Keith Reid, Frankie Miller etc. I've never been able to find out any more about the album except that is was to promote the artists and their songs and I'd be interested to know if there were any further albums of this kind with IA's music on them. There was at least one; called "Ten Prime Cuts", it was a limited edition offered in a quiz in Sounds magazine, I have a copy and will dig it out and post a copy of the cover, which isn't very inspired - a black and white woodcut of a Bull.

its not one i have ever seen or heard except on a crappy cassette my sis did for me This release was part of the 25th anniversary celebrations. Issued in a sleeve designed by Bogdan Zarkowski who also did many other sleeve designs around that time. I’ve found a better copy of the sleeve which I’ll post here. There was also a 3 track club promo release (!) also on vinyl. There’s a good illustration of this at www.electrocutas.co.uk/12/lid.jpg and this is ultra rare. This was all tied in with the two cd releases, at least here in the UK, and one 7” vinyl issue of Living In The Past. So the releases were, for those not about in 1993: CD1: Living In The (Slightly More Recent) Past/Silver River Turning/Rosa On The factory Floor/I Don’t Want To Be Me. CD2: Living In The Past (original version)/Truck Stop Runner/Piece Of Cake/Man Of Principal. 7” Vinyl: Living In The Past (original version)/Hard Liner 12” Vinyl: Living In The Past (12” club mix)/Living In The Past (7” mix)/Living In The Past (ravey master mix)/Living In The past (NY mix) 12” Vinyl Promo: Living In The Dub/Living In N.Y./Living In The Club I can’t comment further about the 12” promo as I’ve never heard it and . . . I don’t thing I really want to! Whether there were any other releases of this from other parts of the world I don't know - info would be appreciated if anyone knows of any. Should anyone want to listen to the "ravey dud mixes" I've got them on mp3's so PM your email address and I'll send them to you

I'd Like to see the Japanese picture CD's of the Tull remasters. I own the Japanese Benefit CD, I'd like to see the rest.
Cheers!

The Japanese issue of Live - Bursting Out Cover and back with obi strip Inside The photos on the individual CD sleeves are the same as the normal releases and the only other offering included is a large folded sheet with the song lyrics in English and Japanese on both sides.

I think it may be the case that the Japanese could have issued pic discs as well or even multiple variations of the same album. I think that the research about these could be a project for us all in the New Year.

Scans of cassette sleeves with Tull connections. Some Chrysalis in-house cassettes. Seismic Ring. One of the first Tull tribute bands and probably one of the best. Played at the first 3 UK Tull Conventions. Bought this in London many years ago in HMV Records. This was also issued as a double vinyl release but I've never seen this anywhere else as a cassette issue. Scans of the cassettes themselves at s547.photobucket.com/albums/hh459/moggietull/?start=all

As I have mentioned above, in this thread...please count me as one who absolutely appreciates and anticipates with near daily glee the stuff that shows up on this thread...mostly, but not exclusively, courtesy of maddog...it is always a pleasure to see any and all bits of Tull memorabilia of every sort: alternate pressings, posters, press releases, pictures, reviews etc etc etc...there is no such thing as a bit of Tull trivia too trivial for attention and perusal...thanks to producers of same! At first i thought everything actually belonged to maddog...and I figured I should pack up my teeny trove and let it flow into the big river of Tull goods he has gathered...then, learning that some of the stuff is simply searched online and shared...i look forward to getting the tools and know how to add my two cents worth someday.

The word you've used which I endorse 100% is "shared". Can't for the life of me understand anybody who does not like to see some of the pics/posters etc of the band we all follow displayed both here and on other sites. Still it takes all sorts really.
Trouble is I've got a lot of photos which I have been sent over the years and I now don't know the owners of the majority of them. Still, ebay is a good source of items but I must recommend electrocutas, talk tull, cup of wonder etc for a viewing of very good items which I for one would not re-post without their permission. Having said that though, some of my stuff is on some of those sites and I'm only too glad it's on display.
I'd love to see some of the memorabilia others have got and I'm sure in the majority of cases they'd only be too happy to share.

Now for all you lovers of out-of-date technology, here's the Betamax release of Slipstream I aquired a few years ago at a car boot sale for about 50p. "In the wardrobe of my soul In the section labelled shirts" Vivian Stanshall

Back in the last century, before the world wide web/internet "thingy", many collectors would photocopy their ill gotten gains and snail mail them to friends and fellow fans. Not the instant access malarky we have today. So in glorious black and white, replendent in its xerox tones, this is a Steel Monkey 7" demo label sent to me by my long time friend and fellow Tull collector Mark Collins . . . . . . years ago
