Awww pity - things have moved on a good bit though certainly since 1969 which incidently was when Tull were appearing in Belfast as Glenn pointed out in his answer on the Q&A "... We used to play the Ulster Hall in Belfast in 1969 - right in the middle of the troubles - tanks on the streets and all. We were about the only name band who had the guts to go into N. Ireland at the time and we were loved for it and always had a brilliant time. I used to talk to a lot of the kids and the Prods and Catholic kids never had any problems with each other at the shows..."' jethrotull.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=talk&thread=1163&page=1#10976

No matter how many times I tried to alter the pic of Anna and myself, it only seemed to make me look even older and more cream crackered whilst Anna looks a million dollars whatever the time of day.

Cold Flame get set for further Tull tribute shows in 2013After a short Christmas break, Cold Flame are once again donning their brightly coloured stage wear for further Jethro Tull tribute shows in the first half of 2013 mainly in the north of England. Lots of humour and surprises in a show that aims to capture the essence of Tull filled with classic material from across the years. These gigs will run parallel to the band's rock and blues concerts. Several dates have already been booked , the first of which is at The Moses Gate music venue in Bolton Lancashire on Saturday January 26th. The Band will be on stage from 9pm prompt and if you want more details then check out www.mosesgate.co.uk More dates to follow this week but in the meantime check out www.coldflame.com Also worth mentioning that Cold Flame will be featured so Iam led to believe, in the next edition of A NEW DAY magazine. Now that is an accolade for sure...Thank you DR. Do spread the word and happy new year whilst we are at it...Patrick

Cold Flame update -Jan 28thCold Flame's Tull tribute gig in Bolton last Saturday night was I am very pleased to say, a real treat and great fun. Great audience many of whom were staunch Tull fans and a top sound...all helped to inspire the band. The event was captured in photo form by professional photographer Jonathan Turner www.jonathan-turner.com This coming Saturday Feb 2 sees the band performing another Jethro Tull tribute show this time at The Royal Oak Hotel Music Venue in Blackpool, Lancashire. As far as I know this will be the first time that a Tull tribute has performed in the birthplace of Jethro Tull. I am hoping that Tony Williams who deputised for John Glascock in Autumn 1978 on the North American tour will be coming along and maybe even bringing along his guitar for a guest spot. Stage time will be 9pm prompt. There is no support but the band are scheduled to perform a two hour plus show. More details at www.coldflame.com

COLD FLAME perform the music of JETHRO TULL at The Royal Oak Hotel, Blackpool on Saturday February 2nd 2013An insider's brief review...well we trooped over to Blackpool as planned, set up as planned, became infested by electrical gremlins during the soundcheck which delayed our start by around thirty minutes - definitely not planned - causing much stress amongst band members and crew alike given the large patient crowd that had assembled to see the band. With house lights dimmed and with baited breath, we took to the stage for another round of Jethro Tull music. I really don't like reviewing my own gig but just for the record....It really was a tremendous gig helped greatly by the enthusiastic and unbridled support of the large audience many of whom were die hard Tull fans. The next gig in Blackpool is on Saturday June 29th again at The Royal Oak Hotel and I for one cannot wait. Stay tuned at www.coldflame.com as well as the band's face book site. Be seeing you..Patrick. ps I understand that Tony Williams is on holiday at the moment so was unable to respond to my invitation to come along last Saturday. Maybe next time Tony

Hi Mad dog,
I have never missed a tour in the UK since seeing the band for the first time ever at Wembley in 1973.Sad to say then but June 30th in London coincides with a Cold Flame Tull tribute show in Blackpool the night before and then an additional gig I am booked for on the 30th so I wont be able to get down for that one. I suspect it will be a great occasion however...and with one or two special guests in the pipeline..highly memorable. Be seeing you..Patrick.

Hi everyone,
Having just received an email from Tony Williams who played with Tull on the band's north American tour 1978 relating to our recent Tull tribute gig in Blackpool...here in part is what he had to say..
I am so disappointed to have missed your gig, however I was in Leeds on the 1st and 2nd so would not have been able to attend anyway. I hope you had a great night and that you managed to get a return booking, and if so please let me know the date also keep me up to speed with anything you do close by.
Re loco breath, that's probably the easiest bass part in the Tull catalogue so I might remember that ! good luck and keep in touch.
Best Regards Tony Williams

Thanks to Graham for putting up these dates and thanks alsao for the advice he gave in sorting out my access back to the Forum. As the weather is boiling at the moment this will certainly have some effect on stage clothing methinks - can't see Pete wearing the long coats for very long somehow. Anyway hope to meet up with lots of Tull fans over the weekend and talk Tull. SOMEWHERE, SOMETIME, SOME PLACE ? On a different tack, I mentioned the idea of a possible Tull fan Convention somewhere in England sometime this year. Whilst there was some initial encouraging feedback to suggest we might have something to work with, the general level of interest from Tull fans has been minimal and this would suggest that there is little desire on their part to support such a venture. Cheers for now...Patrick.

Cheers for now...Patrick. The problem with a comprehensive JT Convention is where to have it. When we held them back in the 90s you wouldn't believe the amount of comments about the venues and locations that we had, even when we held them for a couple of times in Milton Keynes which we hoped would satisfy the wishes of people who lived in the more northerly parts of the UK. OK I know MK has been described as a bit of a sh*t hole but the facilities were good and the staff there were pleased to have us. Sometime ago, long before the JT Forum was born, we put out "feelers" trying to enlist the help of people who either might know a good location/venue or indeed actually owned or worked in a suitable venue all to no avail. Anyone own or work in a suitable venue which is accessible to people and near to good public transport facilities?

Apologies for last minute message but last week, circumstances beyond the bands control conspired to postpone Cold Flame's scheduled Tull tribute concert in Crewe tonight Sat December 14 at The Box venue. Efforts were immediate in ensuring that punters were told via face book, gig guides etc as well as through the venue. I apologise again for not posting this unfortunate news here on the Tull forum. The band will be rebooked to perform at The Box in the new year and I will ensure that you guys are the first to know. The band are very disappointed not to be doing this gig as we had worked out a Christmas feel to the set...ah well maybe next time.
Best wishes and Merry Christmas...Patrick and co.

Greetings Tull fans on this Forum, Apologies for not letting you know about the recent gig at The Robin 2 which proved to be a great success for the punters that actually came along and gave the band a standing ovation at the end of the gig. This weekend Vindaloo Flute rock lives on as Cold Flame will be performing the music of Jethro Tull live at The Railway Venue in Bromley Cross near Bolton, Lancashire.Doors open at 7.30pm with the band on stage from 9pm approx. Two sets chronicling the greatest hits of Tull and a few surprises. More information at www.facebook.com/railwayvenue or phone 01204 306450 Fitted out with a dedicated stage, great lightshow and EV Sound System, the Railway Venue showcases the best in original and Tribute bands and we are looking forward to this gig very much. Do come along and enjoy the band's interpretation of Jethro Tull music. Check out the band website at www.coldflame.com Be seeing you..Patrick
