17 May 2012 Liederhalle Beethovensaal Stuttgart, Germany 20:00 start. Earlier 2012 shows ended with the projected text "The End. No, really... it is!". It seems this audience misunderstood that as "... Not really..." and refused to leave until the band returned, John O'Hara having already changed out of his stage clothes, to play 'Locomotive Breath' as an encore. The text was changed for subsequent concerts. www.ministry-of-information.co.uk/de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kultur-_und_Kongresszentrum_Liederhalle

Wow...how 'former East Bloc' is that building? You can almost see the soap bars stamped 'soap' piled up in the bathrooms.

21 & 22 June 2012 Harpa Reykjavík, Iceland Eldborg main hall; 1,600 seats. Sold out within 7 mins of tickets going on sale; an extra show added for the following night. Thick As A Brick (entire) - [Interval] - Thick As A Brick 2 (entire) Interval included a prostate cancer awareness section. No encore. Filmed, apparently for TV broadcast; interview segments and a trip to a glacier were also filmed. The broadcast itself cites the date as 22/6 - an error, or was that recorded instead? Eldborg main hall; 1,600 seats. www.ministry-of-information.co.uk/en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harpa_(concert_hall)

18 August 2012 Festival site Escot Park (Exeter), UKIan at The Levellers' 'Beautiful Days' Festival. Performing in a (muddy) big-top; effectively the festival's second stage. With the usual video projections. Ian Anderson Band with Ryan O'Donnell on vocals and Anna Phoebe via a VoIP link. Previous band, Show Of Hands, overran by ~10 mins, so set was slightly abbreviated to meet (Anderson-defined) 22:30 curfew. Thick As A Brick (nearly complete), From A Pebble Thrown, Banker Bets Banker Wins, Adrift And Dumbfounded, Old School Song, Wootton Bassett Town, Shunt And Shuffle, A Change Of Horses, [Song cut; prob. 'Kismet In Suburbia'] What-ifs Maybes and Might-Have-Beens, Locomotive Breath www.ministry-of-information.co.uk/www.britainexpress.com/attractions.htm?attraction=1919

Austin is supposed to be a pretty cool place...an oasis of sanity and great music in the vast wasteland called Texas. The ski areas in Colorado featured very unfriendly bathroom graffiti back in the seventies when Texans started coming north to ski badly and but dress expensively: 'Here I sit, bowels a flexin', made myself another Texan'
