Since I know there are other Rush fans on this board, I figured I would share some of my better pics from a couple of shows this year. I made it to 6 this summer, scattered across the US, but I only brought my camera into 2 shows with me. So here are my best efforts from Mansfield, Massachusetts and Saratoga, New York. I'm always more than happy to share with other Rush fans, so if you'd like any original, large files, please feel free to reach out to me Enjoy!

Fantastic! Thanks for posting Ray. No comparison to yours but I have some of the london S&A show on disc somewhere. If I find them I'll post them. Don't get excited though, I've found this one and I remember it being the best I got.

Thanks, Col. I love those crazy spaceship lights! My camera is the only reason my pics came out so good. It's a Sony H2, not the greatest camera in the world, but it has a good lens and a quality optical zoom (12X). I don't try to get it into every show because it's rather large and I don't want to bring it back to the car if I fail. It's a lot of fun taking the pics and seeing really good results. I used to criticize people that got their camera's into show and kept snapping pics, but now I know how fun it is! especially when your getting cool results! I do hope I can get it into the Tull show Sunday.

I,ve just bought replays, the triple live set from differant times during their career.I still refer the stripped down harder set from 1978. I cant get to grips with the heavy synth sound, probably because I first saw them in 79 Hemispheres tour and this was "my"era. I last saw them on the Show Of Hands tour and hav,nt I think bought a new studio cd since. I,ve been looking for a recording of the Hemispheres tour and found the set list, which is nice because the passage of time has dulled the memory. Anthem Passage To Bangkok By Tor Xanadu Something for Nothing Trees Cygnus XI Hemispheres Closer To The Heart Circumstances A Farewell To Kings La Villa Strangiato 2112 Working Man Bastille Day In The Mood Drum Solo Its worth pointing out that cygnus/hemispheres where played back to back without a break and 2112 was a full version.Best Rush set ever I think so.

For those of you interested (Col): VH1 classic aired a 24 hour Rush marathon on Rosh Hashana appropriately titled "Rush Hashana". I was at work and just happened to be rolling a tape when surprisingly, they aired the live version of Far Cry from the upcoming live DVD. I edited the cool Rush Hashana station ID to the beginning and uploaded it to youtube. www.youtube.com/watch?v=cHac_3OPMto. enjoy! DVD looks like it'll be good!

I'm actually partial to the setlist from the next tour, as it include N. Science (the unabridged version) w/ the other longer pieces. You are correct however; that is one great setlist. I took a long time to warm to the newer, softer material myself. For a studio album that may interest you, try Vapor Trails from 2002. It's probably their heaviest work ever. I'll warn you now though; the mix is pretty thick, and a bit of a botch. It makes up for the poor quality in heaviness and depth though. Additionally, there are few actual guitar solos on the disc. Again, the heaviness will compensate for the oversight on their peart [sic].

For anybody that may be interested: The main Rush board I'm on (rushTour.com) for each tour makes a banner and tries to hand it off to somebody going to the next Rush show at each stop on the tour. We've had really good luck and made most of the US/Canada shows the past two years. I produced a Video for each leg and just premiered my latest "La Pre-Show Strangiato: The 2008 RushTour Banner Video" last night. It's up on my site if you want to check it out www.rushfanfilm.com/videos.html

With all due respect to Mr. Lee...and The very great 'Yes Album'...Yes has no less ( and no more) than 4 better albums: Fragile, Close to the Edge, Tales From Topographic Oceans and Relayer. And Tull has one better album than TAAB.....the next one in their catalog. Oh yeah, Animals is better than Meddle and Quadrophenia is better than Who's Next.

When I was in grade 11, an episode of a variety show was taped at my school . It was kind of like the Canadian version of "American Bandstand", hosted by some wanker (as you British people would probably describe him) wearing a leisure suit. Two rock bands performed for us, the 2nd being RUSH (with their ORIGINAL drummer). I kept on thinking: "The guy singing sounds just like Robert Plant (circa 1973's Houses of the Holy; you know what I mean- very HIGH vocals)". On one of the documentary films made about RUSH, a film clip from this performance can be seen.
I agree with Geddy Lee's choices for the best YES, WHO, and HENDRIX albums; disagree with the ones he picked for FLOYD,TULL,GENESIS,ZEPPELIN.

I was able to find the video of RUSH's performance at my high school. I recall that the host asked us students to sit closer to the front, so when the camera showed us, it would make it appear that the audience was more "full" (less empty seats) :

RUSH DRUMMER NEIL PEART IS HONOURED IN HIS HOMETOWN
The city of St. Catharines, Ont., is naming a local pavilion after late Rush drummer Neil Peart and considering other ways to honour his legacy.
The acclaimed percussionist, who died in January at age 67, was born in Hamilton and grew up in St. Catharines.
He was the primary lyricist for Rush and co-wrote the progressive-rock group's 1975 song Lakeside Park in honour of the region.
Earlier this year, the southern Ontario city asked for submissions for a name for the pavilion at Lakeside Park in the local community of Port Dalhousie.
The submissions were whittled down to two finalists — Peart's moniker, along with "Lakeside Park Pavilion."
A public vote between the two suggestions determined the Neil Peart Pavilion at Lakeside Park as the favourite and city council approved the choice earlier this week.
The vote was "overwhelmingly in support of the internationally renowned musician Neil Peart," Mayor Walter Sendzik said in a Twitter video Thursday.
It's "a fitting, fitting name for an amazing individual who has done so much for music, not just here in Canada but around the world."
A tribute concert for Peart, A Night for Neil, was scheduled for May 16, but has been moved to Oct. 17 because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

DRUMMING ROYALTY WILL GATHER VIRTUALLY THIS WEEKEND TO HONOUR LATE RUSH MEMBER NEIL PEART.
The Police drummer Stewart Copeland, Foo Fighters’ Taylor Hawkins, Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Chad Smith and Chicago’s Danny Seraphine are among the artists who will pay tribute to Peart’s genius as part of a one-night-only online concert, produced by LiveXLive.
The event streams live this Saturday, September 12th, at 8 p.m. ET and will be available to watch on LiveXLive.com and Fite.tv. A ticket to the pay-per-view event costs $12.99 and lets you stream the show from your phone, tablet or computer. You can also watch it on your TV through the Fite TV app, which lets you cast the action onto the screen via Apple TV, Roku Streaming Stick, Fire TV and more.
Other performers for the night include Cindy Blackman-Santana, Thomas Lang, Alex Gonzalez (Manå), Jim Riley (Rascal Flatts), Dom Famularo, Carmine Appice (Vanilla Fudge), Keith Carlock, Todd Sucherman (Styx), Kenny Aronoff, Gregg Bissonette (Ringo Starr), Ray Luzier (Korn), and Kristina Schiano. The event will also feature appearances by Carl Palmer, Eric Singer, and Mike Portnoy, among others.
The Neil Peart tribute concert is the latest production from LivexLive Media, a new streaming platform for live events and podcasts. LiveXLive has produced and distributed a number of shows for streaming over the past few months, including concerts from Jimmy Buffett, OneRepublic, Zac Brown, and Darius Rucker.
The Peart concert is taking place as part of the 2020 Modern Drummer Festival. Organizers say proceeds from ticket sales will benefit brain tumor research at Cedar-Sinai Medical Center, in memory of Peart. The Hall of Fame drummer and songwriter passed away in January after a long battle with brain cancer. He was 67.
