All studio album's will start the game with 5 points, you very simply add one point to your favourite tull album, and knock a point of your less favourite album. Last album standing will be places as their best album!

Another Brother Before I get horse whipped by Steelmonkey for not voting for Passion Play, I must add that both APP and Benefit are joint top #1 in my case - which comes first is down to how I feel on any particular day and what mood I'm in.

Jethro Tull might release an album in 2014 called "I can't decide", then you can choose that one.

TAAB + UW -
So sorry UW you know I love you and will continue to do so. Playing you at minimum once every six years, though one of your live shows maybe once every 3 months. Was tempted to spare the Christmas Album the ignominy of such a unfortunate early appraisal by voting it best but...that wouldn't be true. However the fly in the ointment of the Passion Play, Minstrel and Benefit outings has arrived. At any point have I considered any of those to be the greatest thing they've ever done? Well...yeah, but that goes for most of their output, none will merit a hearing in this court as regards the best ten of the band's output, the lot misses the cut. Its about overall quality, I believe all of those are dragged down by their worst and most medicre moments. Oh and Catfish and Crest, you too stand on precarious ledges for that very reason, particularly Crest, high highs, but lots of mediocre and some bad, re Raising Steam, wtf was that. Catfish Tull at their most mediocre, really no great highs,White Innocense possibly their weakest epic tune, though, not so bad, Rosa comes closest if she came out of those sessions. Thinking Round Corners should be a just a good quirky tune, not one of the best on the album, which it is. Oh and TOTRRTYTD, you've got a friend in this corner, which I would not have said in 76, although the show was probably the most surprising of all for me,(a total gob smacking, I can't possibly get enough of this beauty) so lukewarm had I been to their output on vinyl since TAAB, at the time it seemed like a nadir. Even after that show I don't think I liked it much for years. Along with the live record, among the most improved by the remaster, and maybe the one most needing it. Its lowest lows are not very, several minor highs, lower visibility gems like Salamander and Checquered Flag, one of their better openers too in Quizz Kid. That was the show he introduced himself as Arnold Stirrup. Too bad the TV show largely sucked, with occasional moments of relief usually provided by John Evan with whatever was that hairstyle he had. I have occasionally had cause to wonder if what is being referred to in the line "you can wear a crown of roses upon your cranium" is in reference to the Grateful Dead, and their most iconic symbol. Probably not, as their actual state of being never fit the tenor of the song, not that Ian Anderson would necessarily know that, the Grateful Dead being as much anti rock stars, though of course enjoying many of its excesses, as Jethro Tull.

I thought I would add a new rule, once an album has been removed, you can vote again, so album down = second vote!

This contest needs to go past 2012, so that TAAB2 is added and given fair chance to be represented (at least in this forum).

C: It's a new release and the musicians are Ian/Florian/Dave and John. The story of the album is about Gerald and what he may have become as he grew older. Two of the songs have already been played on tour however the lyrics will be changed slightly now that the secret has been revealed. TAAB2 tour will have the same line-up however will also feature guest musicans.

First post - this has to be the place to start...
This Was: 5 Stand Up: 5 Benefit: 8 Aqualung: 5 Thick as a Brick: 6 A Passion Play: 7 Warchild: 5 Minstrel in the Gallery: 6 Too old to rock n' roll: 2 Songs from the Wood: 6 Heavy Horses: 6 Stormwatch: 5 A: 5 Broadsword and the Beast: 5 Under Wraps: 3 Crest of a Knave: 5 Rock Island: 5 Catfish Rising: 3 Roots to Branches: 5 J-Tull Dot Com: 4 Jethro Tull Christmas album: 4
UW + (clearly, this album stands outside the main JT lineage, but it's the one I go back to most often - there's just so much to get to grips with and I find it endlessly fascinating) CR - (have never been able to get anywhere near this one, from first play to today - I never even upgraded from cassette - it just sounds short of ideas to me, but the Nightcap outtakes shows what might have been!)
