What's your favourite intro. to a song? Here's one of my favourite's - it's not a Tull number - Baba o' Reilly by The Who.

For me it's quite simply... With You There To Help Me..it was the start of my daily Benefit fix and the opening bars are my 'quintessential Tull'

good choices, perhaps we should expand this thread to one Tull & one non Tull
Tull: It's maybe in danger of getting over familiar now but Loco Breath's intro should definitely be on this list!
Non Tull: Xanadu - Rush, maybe not the absolute best intro ever but a good candidate for the longest.

good choices, perhaps we should expand this thread to one Tull & one non Tull OK. Tull: The intro to Part Of The Machine always makes me sit up and take notice. Non-Tull: The start of the album version of Death Cab For Cutie's I Will Possess Your Heart - all 4 minutes of it! Cheers, Jioffe.

I love those Jim Steinman spoken word intro's. have you heard Love, Death & An American Guitar? It's brilliant (if you like that sort of thing of course!) Tull - Jack Frost (I love that bit where the mandolin comes in) Non Tull - Don't fear the reaper (more cowbell!)
