I read somewhere that Ian Anderson produced a Steeleye Span album called "Now We Are Six". Most interesting.

He also co produced Woman In The Wings for Maddy Prior. www.gaudela.net/prior/woman_in_wings.htmlI didn't realise that Maddy came from Blackpool as well as Ian wonder what the earliest meeting or musical collaboration was? beauty..... backing vocals from Shona Anderson

Certainly worth a listen despite a bizarre cover of " To know Him Is To Love Him" featuring Bowie on sax. Steeleye played the whole album on their spring tour of the UK and this emphasized the magnificence of tracks such as Thomas The Rymer and 700 Elves

Steeleye Span seemed to go in for odd guests in those days. On a later album (Commoners crown?) they had Peter Sellers as a guest artist (playing ukulele and adding Goons noises).

Always liked Steeleye, and the last few albums show a great return to form. If you are not familiar with them and need a taster , look up the title track of "Dodgy Bastards". It wouldn't be out of place on a Tull album! "Woman in the Wings" by Maddy features a Barre guitar solo, an Anderson flute solo, in fact all of Tull ( circa 78) except John Evans, so is worth tracking down.
