'when they take it out'..... Yup - on the last occasion (after the second op) that they wanted to put one 'in' - they sent a young trainee Doc up to the ward - he took three attempts at 'ramming' three differing 'types' in - one after the other - failed with all three! Which meant he took all three (in turn) back out OUT - all in the space of ten minutes! He returned with his 'Senior' - who promptly failed on his first go! Which meant taking it back out - and then he succeded with the fifth go. So in half an hour I had five 'shoved/screwed' IN and FOUR withdrawels!!! My eyes more than watered!

I p1ssed all over the doctor taking it out. Now that's what I call revenge. ;D

All this catheter/bladder talk reminds me of the day I had a Cystoscopy where a doctor looks into the bladder via the urethra with a special telescope, that feels like a real telescope like Jodrell Bank. After the procedure I was told to drink lots of fluid and was warned that it would be painful when passing urine. So, I bought a 2 litre bottle of strong cider and drank the lot. The end result was yes, it hurt when I passed urine but I didn't give a sh1t. ;D

Wouldn't want to do that as an occupation.

As for catheters etc., the postate exam takes some beating. Wouldn't want to do that as an occupation. Had the prostate 'exam' May last year.... Local anasthetic applied - the first 'sample' was 'bitten' out of me by the device inserted - well, thinks I, that was 'bearable. The Doc then said, right that's the first - we take five up one side then five down the other! By numbers six and seven I was wondering why the local anasthet didnae seem to be working!!! Ow! No pain (experienced by m'self) can ever top that which occured when in full water retention from an overnight catheter blockage (post op). I'd been sent home and told to ring (as first line of call) for the District Nurse if 'any problems'. Woke up in agony - m' dear wife rang for the Dist N at 8am. There followed TWO & A HALF hours of waiting in absolute agony! Kidneys were now at risk. Excruciating pain. Never knew such pain all my life. And as it was so prolonged - I spent most of the time on hands and knees screaming the house down (as it built and built up) - the pain eventually getting deep into my head (of all places!) as well as all my torso. No painkillers available - nowt to do but 'put up with'. Can't recommend 'retention' - must be damn closest thing to NOT being able to give birth that a bloke can endure. Mucho respect to the female of the species!

My learning curve on recently acquired kindle and smart phone is actually not pathetic...often requires inserted step of asking 28 year old but generally making progress...like a 14 year old attempting sex: I touch something...see what happens...sometimes something happens, sometimes nothing, sometimes what i expected to happen does, sometimes something else happens, sometimes what happened last time doesn't happen this time...see what I mean? Adolescent sex!

Warmest congratulations Salamander! I should like to give that child a good pinch on the cheek and chin. Usually have to wait until after the first giggle to start that stuff.

My wife bought a mirror for our landing but wouldn't let me hang it up because (apparently) I'm "useless at DIY". So She asked her sister's boyfriend to come and fix it to the wall. He came and has drilled two holes about an inch wider than the mirror. ;D I now allow myself a big smirk when gazing in that mirror with the two holes filled with pollyfilla.

Not so much made my week but certainly made my Thursday worthwhile. Last Sunday I went to a local record fair - bu99er all there except I picked up a cd copy of TOTRnR in its remastered form for £3. TT will be pleased, I hope. Went to our local Oxfam shop today and found a box of 7" singles in the corner full of worthless junk except for two Buddy Holly/Crickets singles in their original form with the triangular centre, a Jackie Wilson single also with a triangular centre and a Joe Meek produced single by the The Outlaws. Difficult to get hold of in a collector's record shop and a quite unexpected find in a charity shop. Just love the smell of vinyl in the morning

What ho Duck, well bowled to your daughter. Nonrabbit, I'd love it if my age was put as 48. In a few days, I will pick up my 1st cost free prescription, since whatever scumbag government introduced prescription charges, so either lie about your age or move to Wales.

Saw Buddy Whittington yesterday, it made my year. C'mon the Simon Cowells of this world, let's see this kind of stuff on X-factor...won't hold my breath. Sorry about the big size of the picture, but I can't remember how to reduce its' size on TinyPic. i45.images obliterated by tinypic/1h8c3d.jpg[/IMG] edited by Nonrabbit to reduce size
