1st motorbike ride of the year, just a fairly gentle 15 minute trundle around the local highways - luverleee. The picture is a Honda Blackbird, just like mine.

After the hassles and crap I had about trying to book Deep Purple tickets, I had a look at The Hamsters web-site, yahooooo, they're playing a show about 10 miles away in April. OK then, let's get 2 tickets for me and the missus. No on-line $h1t to go through, no phone problems listening to "muzak" while you wait your position in the phone queue, I drove to the promoters house - maybe 8 miles away, 2 tickets in my hot sticky mitt - sorted my son, luvverly jubberly. Oh yes, £30 for 2 tickets is less than the price of one for the Deep Purple show and they play just as long as DP.

I'd like a huge dollop of humble pie please and a big spoon, nay, a shovel. Deep Purple have booked a second show in London next November and I managed to be on-line when the tickets went on sale. Hooray, got 2 tickets, well, haven't got them in my hot sticky mitt yet, but paid for them, which is a damn sight better than before.
Yahooooooooooooooooooooooo

Almost finished converting my former office room into a nursery nd my former guest room into my new office... At least close enough to have my computer set up again for the first time in over a month! Soon I'll be able to work from home and avoid a nearly 2 hour commute a couple of times a week too!

Wandered about old junk yard last week found a map of Ireland in old dusty frame behind a pile of pictures haggled with grumpy owner of said junkyard down to £20 took map home googled and discovered that it was an interesting old map phoned Trinity College Dublin for help - man (lecturer in maps!) in College gave me telephone number of expert in Dublin
.. expert in Dublin, funny, said he was passing through Enniskillen on way to Donegal for weekend would meet me in car park of Sports Centre would recognise him by his old car held together by bungy rope!
... met man took pictures of map for his next book (on maps!) and said map was over 400 years old and handmade!
Map is a very old copy of the first map of Ireland by Ortelius
Map has text written in Roman times describing where I live - Lough Erne as having once been a stream whereby a curse was put there because the locals "venerated" the beasts! Priceless ;D

Well, that's certainly what I'd do!
If it were me I might just keep it put away, or possibly even sell it, so that's why I wondered.

Well it was two things that made my week. 1 It was my 25th Wedding Anniversary on Tuesday 5th and we had a small party at home on Saturday night. 2 Seeing Ian & guests at the Barbican on Sunday 3rd and staying over in London for the night See how careful I was to put them in that order

My dad who is 94 had a spell in hospital recently, he's now fine, well, as fine as a 94 year old can be. For a while there, he was away with the fairies, but now he's just his usual cantankerous ornery old self again.

I know I keep banging on about them, but.........The Hamsters have scheduled a show in Oxford at The Bullingdon pub next September, £10 for 2 hours plus of the best rock/blues music you will hear. I'm only sorry that our overseas friends don't get to see and hear them.
