Jethro Tull confirmed as HEAVY Metal in Canada. Today in Music History - Dec. 20 The Canadian PressIn 1967, the rock group "Jethro Tull" was formed by guitarist Mick Abrahams. But Abrahams left the group soon after their first album, and under the subsequent leadership of flutist and vocalist Ian Anderson, "Jethro Tull's" music changed from progressive blues and jazz to a mixture of folk and heavy metal music. WOW, thank God for that. The Tull Grammy can rest easy now.

Celebrity Tull Fan: Lurch ? But Lurch doesn't have those neck node thingies. I say send the hat to me in New Jersey to wash it. I'll take so much care that it'll take me a couple of years to do the job right. --Ron--

First day of the cricket season yesterday and it was bathed in sunshine at Durham. Mind you it was only 10C maximum.

Hosts in NYC, when they learned I had drifted from books to TV in past year, force fed me both seasons of 'The Office'. It was one of the funniest, realest, most enjoyable things I have ever watched. So consistent...Ricky Gervais is a obvious genius and every one on that show was perfect. Special feature that I can share with Tull friends but not hosts: The character Keith Bishop reminded me so much of our friend Michael Veith, I got sad everytime he was onscreen.

I still watch the repeats on TV and laugh especially as I lived in Slough for twenty years and worked near the Industrial Estate where it was filmed and stood shivering at the Bus Station on the credits. He's resurrecting David Brent and bringing us up to date on his exploits.

Keaton Jennings has scored a magical debut hundred on his Test debut against India in Mumbai. Oh, did I say he's a Durham player?

Play it again: The firm saving vinylBy Duncan Hess Business reporter, Lodenice, Czech Republic 1 November 2017 Whether gathering dust in your loft or currently spinning on your turntable, it's a fair bet that at least some of your vinyl records came from a small factory in the Czech Republic. The facility in question is the headquarters of GZ Media, based in the small town of Lodenice, 25km (16 miles) west of the Czech capital, Prague. GZ is today the world's largest producer of vinyl records, of which it expects to press 30 million this year, for everyone from the Rolling Stones and U2, to Lady Gaga and Madonna. www.bbc.com/news/business-41747615

While sitting on a park bench (of course) taking in the warm Autumn sun and watching the world go by in our Market Place a man on a Harley came along with Witches Promise blasting from his motorbike speakers. Perfect

I dig when that happens. A couple years ago, I was the first of my group of friends to say I was leaving the bar. As I was getting ready to go, one of them tipped the guitar player to play "Thick as a Brick" and got another round of Guinness. Don't remember too much about the end of that night, but I didn't leave.
