I wish those times were back with paying five shillings for six months Marquee membership and only six shillings to see Jethro Tull and seven shillings and sixpence to see The Who and Yes on the same bill. Happy days!

Love these old posters. Pity they never put the year on them, this one must be 1968 I guess, as after that year they would not have called themselves a "blues" band....

Happy days! I agree 100%. I love all those guys, it would have been brilliant to see Joe Cocker back then

Yes 1968 with a set list which was probably similar to this one which Glenn emailed to me many years ago. Serenade To A Cuckoo, Cat's Squirrel, Rock Me Baby, So Much Trouble, Beggar's Farm, Dharma For One, My Sunday Feeling, It's Breaking Me Up, A Song for Jeffrey, Fat Man, Someday The Sun Won't Shine For You, Sunshine Day

I distinctly remember buying both of those issues of 'Melody Maker' back in the day. I wish I still had them! I loved the 'caricature' drawing of Ian Anderson carrying that 'heavy horse'. I always bought the 'inkies' every week, 'Sounds', 'Melody Maker', and 'NME'. On occassion 'Record Mirror' and 'Disc' as well! In those days, other than mail-outs, it was the only way of finding out what was going on in the music world. Those were the days. We will never see the like of those brilliant newspapers again!

I've still got a few in my archive but these are off the internet
