Whether it be Cold Flame, The Dayglo Pirates or from a few years back Seismic Ring to name but a few, its nice to know that Tull music is being performed by English bands up and down the country...all that remains is to see whether Tull fans up and down the country want to come along and have a little fun with such bands.
Beastie will be along anyway this Autumn.

Never seen a Tull tribute in SF...Band called 'Tempest' did a song or two and tried to project a 'Tull, Fairport'vibe but didn't do much for me...beyond a pretty singer called 'Cat' ( she said it stood for call any time...but she was married). I'd pay my hard-earneds to give any Tull tribute band at least a chance...I've seen some Dead tribute bands...most were boring but one called 'Max Creek'...was pretty good...they even had 'creeks freaks' instead of deadheads. I wonder how much Jack Hicko would charge to play my daughter's next birthday party?....Jack....wadda ya think? I need 75% Tull, 25% Disney and a sing-a-long happy birthday...I can pay in Tull vinyl boots and an autographed 'Benefit' vinyl! I'll keep playing the lottery so I can send all the global moderators airfare!

Hope you have a good evening, or even two. It will be interesting to hear what songs they perform so a review for this forum would be great . If they ever get down to my corner of the UK I'll try and get to see them as I've only heard good things about the band.

Excellent I saw Seismic Ring 4 or 5 times in the "nineties" and the Dayglo Pirates a couple of times. Both good bands although I haven't heard anything about Seismic Ring for some time and I believe they went through a few line-up changes. Look forward to the review. Thanks

And once more.....Cold Flame will be donning their knee high boots and breeches this coming SUNDAY NOVEMBER 23RD when the chaps perform a Jethro Tull tribute special at THE ROBIN 2 BILSTON, WEST MIDLANDS. The band are on at 9pm in what promises to be a rocking two hour tour de force of Tull classics.
Why not come along and enjoy whilst Tull ply their wares elsewhere in far off climes. Okay its true I was asked by the band to put this message on the boards but as you can all appreciate its not a bad thing to advertise as much as possible in this age of Strictly Come Dancing and X Factor mediocrity.
See you all there....beastie.

I'll be at that gig. It takes about an hour and 40 mins to get there but it'll be worth it.

Hi everyone.Just copied a press release on Cold Flame to share with you on this forum. As there are some Tull bits mentioned it seemed relevant. beastie.x
Cold Flame - alive and kicking in 2010
Work is now ongoing regarding plans for Cold Flame in 2010.In the first part of 2010, Cold Flame will be performing regular rock and blues shows with some acoustic soirees thrown in mainly aound the North of England and the Midlands with an emphasis on the band's original material.During February Tim and Rob will be touring England playing some major venues with an Indian classical music forty piece ensemble Raga Jyoti complete with members of the Halle Orchestra in settings like The Lowry in Salford and The Fairfield Halls in Croyden ..for more details of that check out Tim's myspace which you will find linked on the Cold Flame profile page as well as local press. Later in the year some members of the band will again be involved very briefly in some Bluesbrothers function mayhem in their alter egos Big Chas and the Business. For those of you into Jethro Tull we have as yet not booked any full scale Tull tribute shows for this year. However there will be flute playing a la Tull on various gigs throughout the next few months.Cold Flame are pleased to announce that they bwill be joined on stage by guest flautists Mark Parkinson and Vicky Martin who will be performing Tull material with the band on selected gigs during the next few months
Lots of additional live work is in the pipeline including festival appearances for the Flame. The band are currently in discussions with promoters regarding further work in Europe and beyond though, as with all things in the music business, this is subject to the current economic climate and social trends.Given the band's committment to bringing their music to all corners this is as good an opportunity as any to highlight that the chaps can be booked for all manner of engagements and performances by contacting the band direct on myspace or alternatively by emailing patelven@aol.com or info@cold-flame.co.uk

Hi Guys sorry for not coming on here much but time goes so quickly and half the time my computor goes blink. Anyway just to let everyone know that we are going to see Cold Flame play in Stockport on Saturday. The venue is The Bakers Vaults which is a well respected music venue and one the band play occasionally through the year. Big interest for Tull fans of course is that the group will be joined by guest flautist Mark who has played with them for the last 18 months or so. Lots of Tull material promised so a good excuse for Tull fans in the north west and Greater Manchester area to meet up. What might also interest Tull fans is that ex Tull drummer Paul Burgess sometimes shows up in the audience when the band plays in Stockport as he lives in the area. Sounds like another good reason to check the gig out.
Hopefully some of you will be able to come
