I've got to got to make it over to Merry England this year. As Steel says it's not exactly miles away think I've become cocooned over here or is that marooned??

I think I might come to Cropredy next summer...I was there for the 30th in...was it 97 or 98 ? and had a great time...perfect, sunny, beautiful, blue skies every minute of the three days and fun with the natives...a girl audience watching me do my morning stretches to the tune of 'Black Sunday' and a teen-ager who was amazed to learn that we have scrabble in America. Would I be pushing my luck to hope for another perfect three days in 2012? Maart shared a bunch of beers with my little gang cuz i gave him 'High Fidelity' to read. My Tull buddy swears he saw Peggy cleaning the port-o-pots early one A.M.

Just don't ask me to sleep in a tent If Steels making the trip across then I'll make the hazardous unforgiving expedition across the plains and high seas from Ireland And no way am I sleeping in a tent or performing a routine of Californian exercises ( spit ) to a group of teenagers first thing in the morning. Ps saw a funny tweet from DJ Simon Mayo " Cambridge Folk Festival slightly less Hogwarts than Cropredy Fewer cape outlets in general"

Just don't ask me to sleep in a tent Why not? It´s fun! I´ll be on my way to Cropredy in a minute. Clive set up our tent yesterday and we have the same neighbours as every year. So a 64 year old drummer sleeps in a tent, so don´t be a whimp

Speaking of chintzy B&B's with the wee packet of biscuits next to the kettle thats exactly what I'll be staying in next year at Cropredy if we're all going Have Fun Ulla and let us know how it went ;D

When we woke in the morning, the bastards had burnt the toilets down to use as firewood.

The first and last time I went camping (1978 Cornwall funnily enough) I would have been happy if the toilets had disappeared during the night.

It was a great weekend. The weather was fine, the 6X delicious and the music was excellent. Every year they have bands on the bill that I never heard of and every year I am happy to see so many good musicians on the stage. Here you can find some reviews about every band www.talkawhile.co.uk/yabbse/index.php?board=117.0

We're hoping to get a Forum get-to-gether at next year's Cropredy and planning is at a very early stage but it should be a very worthwhile venture.

Ulla did you happen to catch the band Lau? Yes. One of the bands I did not know. But the musicianship is outstanding. Sound could have been louder.

Here is an 18 min video of one fan who went to Cropredy 2011 courtesy of Foklcast www.folkcast.co.uk/ and the man who made it Stephan Hayes. It gives an insight to the Festival and the little village and some gardening tips and Seasick Steve Seasick Steve with John Paul Jones Seasick Steve looks like Johnny Carson's cooler more interesting brother .... with a beard
