Round the castle walls About the Highlands and the Islands The faint reminders stand. Visitors who took a hand A thousand years ago, or so Stranded high and dry by tides Washed up a new identity. The channel's wide But it's their European legacy.

So make yourselves jolly under mistletoe, holly and ivy. Get to it, and be in good cheer. And when it's all over: pigs gone to clover Will the last man at the party wish me a happy New Year.

There'll be buckets, spades and bingo, Cockles, mussels, rainy days, Seaweed and sand castles, icy waves, Deck chairs, rubber dinghies, Old vests, braces dangling down, A suntanned stranded starfish in a daze.

The day I went to Blackpool ( A Tull pilgrimage made in 1985) there were not so many people on the beach...almost none, in fact. Blackpool remains, along with London and Cropredy , and the highways in between as well as the highways from Dover to London, the only parts of Great Britan I have ever seen. That's why this thread is so fun. Maybe after the whole Brexit business is digested, there might be a way to change the whole place to 'Tull Land' ?

Never been to Blackpool myself; I always went on holiday either to Eastbourne or Swanage. My experience of Tull pilgrimages is lacking I'm afraid apart from Grange Farm and Peggy's abode in Oxfordshire.

Did my tour, did my duty. I did all they asked of me. Died in the trenches and at Alamein ...died in the Falklands on T.V. Going back to the mountain kings where the sound of the piper counts for everything.

www.bbc.com/news/science-environment-45471409New El Niño weather event likely this winter says WMOBy Matt McGrath Environment correspondent 10 September 2018 An image showing the 2015 El Niño with rising temperatures in the PacificThere's a 70% chance of a recurrence of the El Niño weather event before the end of this year, according to the World Meteorological Organisation. The last El Niño occurred in 2015-16 and impacted weather patterns around the world. Researchers say they are not expecting this new one to be as intense as 2015-16. According to the WMO, climate change is influencing the traditional dynamics of these weather events. The El Niño/Southern Oscillation, to give its proper title, is a natural event that involves fluctuating ocean surface temperatures in the Pacific, which influence the weather all over the world. The 2015-16 El Niño was one of the strongest ever recorded, and had an impact on global temperatures, which saw 2016 enter the record books as the warmest year. As well as heat, the event also led to drought in Africa that saw food production plummet in many countries across the continent. South America saw floods across Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay. This year started with the opposite to El Niño, the so-called La Niña phase. This saw cooler than average sea-surface temperatures in the Pacific. That has now faded and, according to the WMO models, there's a 70% chance of another El Niño developing by the end of this year.

Wait, do I understand right, the home where the Andersons lived for many years is now for rent by the night? I guess that ends any debate about where we have our first all forum convention and pajama party.

Thanks for the info and apologies for my error. The Strathaird House web page mentions that IA sold the Strathaird Estate surrounding the house to the John Muir Trust. I had thought that he owned and lived in the Strathaird house. I will remove my earlier links to Strathaird House to avoid anyone visiting the wrong house. Thanks Steve

That's okay...I made a mistake once, too...I think it was in about 1982. Post first, fact check later has been my policy for years. Not much harm done, they sent back the money I put down as deposit on our meet up. And thanks to Karsten/Ten cars for keeping an eye on us...hey, did I ever tell you, speaking of little mistakes...I called up a guy with your exact first and last name, living in Hamburg, last summer....I guess he thought I was crazy before we figured out he was not a Tull fan and not the same guy.

It's no fun being Jack-In-The-Green No place to dance, no time for song. He wears the colours of the summer soldier Carries the green flag all the winter long. Jack, do you never sleep Does the green still run deep in your heart? Or will these changing times, motorways, powerlines, Keep us apart? Well, I don't think so I saw some grass growing through the pavements today.

Graham - is that you down in Cornwall? Nope. Can't do such things anymore using a bloody walking frame. I'm considering a motorised tricycle but I may even cause even more trouble on our local road network.

I know the CD and cassette had other songs...but those lines at the end of the last song on the album were perfect. End of song, end of album, end of brief era despite a Broadsword song or two that may have been started in the Vetesse/Anderson electronic experimentation era ( Watching You, Watching Me, for example).
