Maybe one in Dublin too.
Am off to a Horslips gig at the Waterfront on Wednesday night. Weather permitting, of course.

Pavillion says that they update on a Friday. The fact that they're playing the Waterfront in Belfast in March you'd think that the Scottish dates would be showing as well? mind you don't they play in the States then nip over to Italy in between ;D I take it you like Iron maiden then ;D Have a good time and please let us know how they sound.

Wow...they have a dedicated concert venue for old fruits in Glasgow? How come that didn't happen first here in San Francisco? Doesn't seem fair...

IAN ANDERSON UK TOUR SEPT 2011 Ian Anderson will be performing a 13 date acoustic tour of the UK in September 2011.
Anderson says:“I have always wanted to go out in the UK with a small line-up, to play and to restructure the songs and music for a more intimate and personalized performance. After many years of performing in this way for radio broadcasts in the USA, it seems like fun to bring this approach to the UK fans, old and new, and to make them feel like they are in my living room for an impromptu family concert.”
As a trio consisting of Ian, German guitar virtuoso Florian Opahle, and pianist/accordionist/ percussionist John O’Hara, he will play Tull acoustic classics, alongside rare and less well-known songs and other re-arranged Tull rock material. In addition, some new material specially written for these tours will make an appearance. This will be the most intimate tour that Anderson has ever undertaken and the audience can expect anecdotes and musical surprises to keep them intrigued.
September 2011 - Tour dates and ticket prices.
Sat 3rd – Shrewsbury, Theatre Severn (£22.50 & £25.00) Sun 4th – Gloucester, Guildhall (£24.00) Mon 5th – Northampton, The Deco (£22.50& £25.00) Tue 6th – Bristol, St Georges (£22.50 & £25.00) Wed 7th – Exeter, Corn Exchange (£24.00) Fri 9th – Hayes, The Beck Theatre (£22.50 & £25.0)0 Sat 10th – London, Union Chapel (£26.00) Sun 11th – Camberley, Camberley Theatre (£24.00) Sun 18th – Buxton, Opera House (£23.00 & £25.00) Mon 19th – Gateshead, Sage (£25.00 & £27.50) Tue 20th – York, Grand Opera House (£22.50 & £25.00) Wed 21st – Grimsby, Central Hall (£22.50 & £25.00) Thurs 22nd – Burnley, The Mechanics (£24.00) Just in case anyone thinks that the tickets are not on sale till Wednesday 1st December..think again because they are already on sale....and selling !!!!

Doesn't seem fair... yep and just up from where the old Fish market was too The Fruitmarket is a great venue Wednesday night was good, band in excellent form, crowd maybe a bit muted, but we livened things up in front of the stage. We are of course so pleased to see this great band on the road again. We have been encouraging them for the last ten years, organised pub nights and with band members dropping in, organised small anniversary gigs etc A replacement drummer has resulted in the band having a more heavy rock sound, but all the elements are there, Fean's blistering solos, Lockhart's essential flute work, O'Connor's concertina, mandolin and fiddle and Devlin's melodious singing. Good time afterwards in the nearby hotel with band and fans, still nursing very sore head .

I see also that Christy Moore is playing the previous night wonder if he'll hang around remembering that Ian said Planxty was one of his favourite bands. ?

Thanks, cutting dreams down to size again fits the scene. ;D Seemed to be having a hard job of beating the skins and somewhat under-rehearsed Mind you it must be difficult to play along with decent music. Btw, is this the same concert where Kate Bush was having a problem with the straps on her dress? Might try and find the video of that. God I'm starting to sound like somewhere else.
