Happy Birthday to the Colorado Kid out there on the western slopes, nice trip around the sun, very good form. Please join me though Mr Skull, in raising a glass to Bernie, who I see in accessing this thread, had the following birthday greeting to one of our Canuck brethren over a year ago, "Just how many Canadians are we going to allow on this board?" Ha! Hope life is treating you real well Tullskull, Happy Birthday!

Native Coloradans pretty much wistfully agree that maybe Calgary or Edmonton is what Denver used to be like before it became the northernmost city in Texas..that is, a friendly, smallish provincial capital with friendly people and infinite beauty steps away. But the area inhabited by Skull is quite unspoiled and unique on the planet...talk about a Bostockian road not taken....where did i go wrong and fail to make a lifelong home on the Western slope of the Rockies? I probably believed I would somehow end up there until I was about 40....now it's a retirement fantasy.

I know. I am a little disapointed in developments in both Arizona and Colorado vrs what seemed like a near hippie takeover of parts of those states in my memories of there from 35 to 40 yrs ago, but likely it had to do with the circles I was running in and visiting, and hitch hiking, not accounting for the cowboys and WHOEVER THAT IS. (I do know these nudie Hippie Hot Springs I used to go to about 200 miles south, a little west of Denver had been the subject on an attempted purchase by John Wayne, and I know where he stood, re not with me) I would not have supposed those people in Vail and Aspen to be particularly right wing, and would dislike them all the more if I thought that were the case. But there again I think the world would have been better off with a Grateful Dead/hippie politic over those years, but I could easily be dead wrong. I could see hiding out and workin the outskirts in Ouray. Probably would freeze to death within a week with my finely honed outdoorsman talents.

Howdy There Again.. Thanks Friends... Had a good day just staying home and digging in the dirt and playing Tull and Dead all day, many bowl fulls and a few beers... ;D
Bernie.. I have ticket to the Denver show, we will see if I can make it there. Tullist.. I agree with the way they over built this 4 Corners and here in Durango we are way over run... Sucks. Ouray and Rico are still unspoiled for sure.. I sleep with the music of the river in the back yard and wake to the cool Colorado air...
Here is a video I made with Martin Barre's Celestial Servings & As Told By ... with my images from right here at home..

Cheers Bunkerfan. Best bit about being 60 is my prescriptions are now freeeeeeee. I still ride my Harley and go to rock concerts. So what does it matter if my knees give me a bit of pain and my eyes are crap?

Bad news for you is you'll have to keep riding your Harley for a bit longer before you get your bus pass.
