New Question.... If, as in all the good fairy tales, you had a Fairy Godmother bestow 3 characteristics to you at birth - what would the 3 be? ie wisdom, beauty, musical talent, humility etc etc but enough of me ....over to you

The ability to fly, play the drums or keyboards, (you get to sit down for these) and juggle.
If there were two of you shipwrecked on a desert island, who is the worst person you could think of to be on the island with?

Good one with lots of reponses - I'm sure Off the top of my head ...any politician from any party in the world - any religious person who tries to convert me - Adam Sandler/Dale Winton/Madonna/the girl at work I don't like )

You're a very funny person, nonrabbit! You always get at least a chuckle out of me... Hmm....3 characteristics... 1. I always wanted to be able to run like the wind. But I'm built for sprints, not for distance. I still keep hoping though, that one of these days my legs will just take off and keep going (with me attached, of course...)... 2. The ability to write good music and lyrics 3. The gift of being able to raise one eyebrow at a time in a sardonic way to show my views on something without saying a word - a la Mr. Spock. The only person that comes to mind right now is that Gilbert Gottfried fella. That voice! I would eat sand and wash it down with saltwater just to get away from it... My question.... Is there any fear you have that you know is irrational...but it's still there anyway?

As some on this board could tell you, my irrational fear is bugs - eight legs, six legs, no legs at all. It's not quite to phobia level, but it does keep me from doing some things I'd like to do and going some places I'd like to. If I could magically change one thing about myself, this would be it (it's not necessarily my worst fault, but it's the one I feel the least amount of power to rid myself of)
The people I would most object to being on a desert Island with are all associated with politics, and in order not to "go there" I won't name names. But for the next question, I will turn it around to the very fun: "who would you LIKE to be on that desert island with?" And since it will hurt my feelings if you don't pick me, I'll change it to "what famous person (on at least a national level) would you most like to be on a desert island with? I pick Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart, since one man is just not enough and they go together so well anyhow. I know this is politics too, but at least it's positive!
Stephen Colbert is a D & D player and Jon Stewart is a good soccer player, so that'll give us three hobbies.

If the same Aliens granted you the chance to stay on the Earth or come with them to their world (which was breathable) -would you go?

Probably yes, in fact it would be a rather interesting "holiday". On the science subject, if you had the chance to tavel back in time and correct one mistake you had made in your life, would you do so, bearing in mind that the course of history and the time line would have been altered.

(I'm not on drugs and I don't drink) OK let's surmise that you had finished your university degree and passed with flying colours. You don't say what type of degree it was, but let's say it was in science and during the course of your research with a pharmaceutical company who subsequently hired you, you discovered the cure for HIV/malaria/cancer or anyone of those dreadful diseases. By completing your degree you've not only chnaged your time line but also the course of history.

reviving an even older thread in fact it's started by Col - Happy Xmas Col and Family!! Worth scrolling back We'll start with an easy enough one. The rules are you answer the previous question and leave a new question. Anyone can jump in! If you were a fading 'celebrity' would you go on an embarrassing 'celebrity' show or just get an ordinary job?

If you had the choice of living anywhere on this planet, where would it be ?

Climate would be a priority and distance from family too so therefore I think somewhere in the Continent possibly Italy for the food! If you could go back to one year which one and why?

I'd go to 1979 and warn the students holding the hostages in Iran that castrating America for a few months and tossing the election from Carter to Reagan and changing the course of the USA from kinder and gentler back to warmongering, world police macho....is a bad idea and will bring much misery in the middle east and far beyond. Guess what...the Soviet Empire was gonna implode all by itself, give or take a few years and Reagan's successful and far reaching 'revolution of the rich' was a very high price to pay for the release of hostages and momentary restoration of American machismo. The hostage crisis changed the course of our generation. Things were getting better but then they got much worse.

This is too good a question for one chest beating answer....who's next on what year you wanna visit ? With a heavy heart I'd avoid the seventies with one proviso that the music was good (APP, Tubular Bells etc) so I'd go for 1967 just because it was when we first heard Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band Next please.
