Sir Broadsword of that ilk gets the invisible prize - it is Francis Monkman of Curved Air. ;D Curved Air are appearing at Glasto this year and they have a brilliant web page where the pic came from www.curvedair.com/The beautiful Sonja Kristina is sounding great .... www.curvedair.com/sonjapage.htmInterestingly as Tullist mentioned above when asked who she had fond memories of appearing with she said; " I loved working with Johnny & Edgar Winter. They were lovely people. Country Joe and I got on well. Actually when we were working I was more of a performer and less a consumer. It was only during the spaces in between (the various band breakups) that I was able to become a listener and consumer of music again." Francis Monkman's page on myspace has some excellent tracks from the album Jam made with the three original members of the band, Florian Pilkington-Miska,Rob Martin and Monkman. www.myspace.com/fmanjam

Who wrote in their autobiography The only time I made an attempt to go to a rock festival, I managed to get there late and missed the entire thing. I wasn't sorry at all. It was one of those sprawling three-day marathons held on the Isle Of Wight, and all that I missed were a load of interminably loud heavy rock groups such as Taste, The Who, Jethro Tull and Jimi Hendrix. All wonderful if you wanted to take all your clothes off and dance while out of your mind on LSD, I'm sure, but I couldn't see anything in it at all apart from people trying rather too hard to be different. Odd, then, that they all seemed to be dressed in the same uniform - blue jeans and tie-dye T-shirts!

Was Tony Blackburn? I suppose if it is it would tie in with his stupid remarks. Sure was. I loved the bit in John Peel's biog where he sees TB, waving to the crowds, being piloted Womble in a speed boat at one of the Radio 1 "fun day outs" and JP turns to Johnny Walker and says "Look on this and marvel - you will never see anything like this again."

and the answer is .....
it's the Egyptian god Amun which Ian drew for the booklet for Dot Com modelled on the statue in his garden however due to some of the delicate and demure US audiences he had to delete the genitals - Amuns

Peter Vettesse & Gerry Conway - 2nd & 3rd from the right, middle row and I reckon that's Kenny Bell, the promoter of those shows back then, on the extreme right of the image.
