I'm going to stick my neck out a bit here and suggest that the 2010 tour will feature a dollop of Benefit. Following on from the 40th Anniversary tour's slight homage to This Was and everything from Stand Up being played this year, a theme is starting up.
I think I'd prefer a new album, but can't see it happening. IA solo album later next year is probable, but not a Tull album. However, if Tull play For Michael Collins, Jeffrey and Me I'll be pleased.
The 2019 tour should feature Stormwatch...

The 2019 tour should feature Stormwatch... Can't wait ;D Mind you, with the age some of us will be, there will have to be a few more intervals/toilet breaks and I can't see many of us rushing the stage at the encore, more like a slow strole via the tea bar. Oh, I can just picture it

You want to be optimistic but then this has been going on for a while now I really really hope they do For Michael ..... it's one of my favourites and such a gem.

Why are all you Brits sitting around exchanging pleasantries when you should be following ian around to all the gigs and applauding madly for new and obscure songs so they survive till MY concert nites....get to work!

In my case, I can't afford it. If I could afford it I'd love to have gone to a couple of the Ian Anderson shows. I'm really looking forward to hearing the new songs - A Change of Horses and Tea with the Princess. It's a pity that Ian Anderson/Jethro Tull very rarely come to Belfast.

I'll have a word with the "headmaster" - see if he'll oblige. Seriously, the enthusiastic response to this tour, and the new songs, coupled with a renewed vigour within the band makes me think that the set list for the US will stay along the lines of the UK concerts. If not, you have my permission to complain loudly not only to IA but on this board.

It's a pity that Ian Anderson/Jethro Tull very rarely come to Belfast. I know! there'd be more than you and I in the audience I'm sure! Do you reckon that's the reason (not us) maybe they think there wouldn't be enough interest?

According to my map and California sense of distances, I could throw a frisbee from anywhere in Ireland to any of the gigs in England....quit being old sissies and start travelling to concerts. And I know you have fairies to get you over that bit of water

Panic, thought my 2 tickets for the Tull show in Oxford had vanished, the missus had temporarily moved them so she could rearrange the contents of our display cabinet - PHEWWWWW, there they are, back where I put them, in pole position ready for next March. Anyone else going to the Oxford show?

Did she live? Do you have a good lawyer if she didn't? There is justifiable homicide in british courts, isn't there?

Chea, according to the ancient book of Tull laws, 'The Tullmud', it is okay to shoot your wife if she breaks a leg prior to a Tull concert. You may love her....but...the law is the law.

Just seen MadDogs' Tull memorabilia about the 2010 tour flyer......how to say this diplomatically, ummmm, I hope the "special guest" ain't one of those hot-shot lady violinists, no disrespect but I've had enough of them. Wouldn't mind seeing Willie Porter as a support act again.

Didn't see this posted anywhere - Jethro Tull have announced details of a new UK tour for March and April. The band will kick off the tour in Northampton on March 5 and wrap it up in Sheffield on April 1. Ian Anderson of the band said: "Of all the music recorded by Jethro Tull over the years, there are several songs which have rarely, if ever, been performed in public. We look forward to introducing some of this material to the setlist in 2010 along with some of the tried and trusty favourites." Jethro Tull will play: Northampton Royal And Derngate (March 5) Oxford New Theatre (6) St Albans Arena (7) Torquay Princess Theatre (9) Brighton Dome (10) Ipswich Regent Theatre (11) Reading Hexagon (12) Southampton Guildhall (13) High Wycombe The Swan (14) Swindon Wyvern Theatre (16) London Union Chapel (17) Bristol Colston Hall (18) Croydon Fairfield Halls (19) Derby Assembly Rooms (22) Manchester Apollo (23) Birmingham Symphony Hall (24) York Opera House (25) Newcastle City Hall (27) Aberdeen Music Hall (28) Perth Concert Hall (29) Glasgow Pavilion Theatre (30) Liverpool Philharmonic (31) Sheffield City Hall (April 1) To check the availability of Jethro Tull tickets and get all the latest listings, go to NME.COM/TICKETS now, or call 0871 230 1094. www.nme.com/news/jethro-tull/49209

Tried and trusty favourites, rarely if ever performed songs? Hmmmm, I suppose if there's no new stuff, then that lot will have to do. I'm off to the Oxford show - think I read Ash is seeing them there as well, so watch this space.
