Tommie, if you don't like Tull or Ian (and you obviously don't) why do you keep coming onto the form and stirring $h1t up? Just wond'ring aloud...

He loves Tull as much as any of us, and he praises them more than he criticizes. Did you see his comment below about Roots to Branches being an exquisite album from start to finish? His criticism is fair game. Not only that, it's valid, and he's entitled to express his opinion, isn't that what this board is all about? Maybe he comes on a bit too strong sometimes, but stirring up the pot is a good thing...it makes for lively debate. Would you rather have a discussion board that consists of all the members agreeing on everything and constantly singing the praises of Ian? That would be rather boring, no? Jeff

So....Ian FINALLY adds something to his archaic website after all this time......and what is is about? MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! "Since writing the words below, the wanna-be promoter, Brian Davies of New Dawn Events has formally cancelled the three day Memories Of Woodstock event at Shrewsbury, UK scheduled for the 7th , 8th , 9th August. Nearly all the acts had pulled out in the previous weeks except a few, including Tull. He cancelled us from the event on Friday July 31st, even when we offered to do the show for 50% of our agreed fee, in an attempt to save more money. The whole event was cancelled the next day along with the three day event at Crathes Castle in Scotland later in August (not a Tull show).
We express our regrets and condolences to any of our fans who bought tickets for this event and are now, hopefully, in line to get their money back. Please let us know if this turns out not to be the case as we will try to bring pressure to bear."
Ian AndersonYes money! however if you read it all and in context you'll see it doesn't quite fit into your normal rant....!!

Wonder if u made any of those shows, because the MICROPHONE RIGHT ON HIS FACE thingee was something I dug. Any info u can gimme on that? Caio, baby I saw the post and did respond. Of course I was at both Roots shows and Divinities too. At the time I lived only a block away from the Beacon so I never missed Tull there, except for my freakin' honeymoon in July 2000. (We went to Venice and Rome, and when we returned, two weeks later, I took my wife on a second honeymoon to Buffalo/Niagara Falls....where we saw Tull at the Erie County Fair.) Scroll back and see if you can find my post re: RTB. Basically what I said was that the Roots tour was one of my favorites, because those songs (unlike the Catfish songs) were born to be played live, and sounded better in concert than they did on the record. I especially loved the tour because of the format, no support act, with the first set consisting of the new stuff, eight of the 11 songs from the album were played (!) followed by the oldies set, which had some unique re-workings of Aqualung and Locobreath, never heard before or since. And I do remember the mobile microphone thing, and liking it,....but again, only because you mentioned it. Jeff

Wonder how many Tull fans would offer to do a days work for 50% wages Concur with that. How many rock stars would do the same as well? I will always admire IA and the band for the charity stuff they've done - the 1989 Inverness concert was a charitable event if my memory serves me well and the songwriting royalties on Nightcap which was also donated to charity.
