If you can recognise this band you're a genius. Me Sir! me Sir! Is that a fresh faced Ray Davies? The bloke next to him looks like Prince - were they in a band together? Ramble alert.... I was once chatted up by his brother Dave (Ray's brother not Prince's - Prince doesn't have a brother called Dave!) in the said motorway cafe meeting incident which I had with them in the early 70's however I don't recognise the brother Dave in that line-up but then it's probably not the Kinks

OK, I'll put you out of your misery/head scratching/google searching The Left Banke, a 1960s American pop-music group best remembered for its two hit singles, "Walk Away Renée" and "Pretty Ballerina". The band often utilized what was referred to as "baroque" string arrangements, which led its music to be termed "Bach-rock". The band's use of harmonies saw it compared to contemporaries such as The Beach Boys, The Beatles, The Zombies, and other British Invasion groups.[1] Rolling Stone has placed "Walk Away Renée" at number 220 in the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.[2] When asked the greatest gift he had ever received from a fan, Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher stated that it was The Left Banke album "There's Gonna Be A Storm."
The group was formed in 1965 and consisted of keyboardist/songwriter Michael Brown, guitarist George Cameron, bassist Tom Finn, drummer Warren David and singer Steve Martin (aka Steve Martin Caro). Brown's father, Harry Lookofsky, a well-known session violinist, ran a studio in New York and took an interest in the band's music, and acted as producer, manager, and publisher.[3] After some initial sessions, David was ousted, with Cameron switching to drums and Jeff Winfield eventually being brought in on guitar. Meanwhile, Brown's song, "Walk Away Renee," was sold to Smash Records, a subsidiary of Mercury Records, and became a hit in late 1966. "Pretty Ballerina," also written by Brown, charted in early 1967, and the Left Banke released an LP entitled, Walk Away Renee/Pretty Ballerina, by which time, Rick Brand had replaced Winfield on guitar.

Who's this? i41.images obliterated by tinypic/117xl5g.jpg [/IMG]
That has got to be Elton "the turd" John. Well, I supposed John liked him, but I wonder. Talk about a guy I would like to see relieved of his overpraised gains, financially I mean, I know, I know he has been a great AIDS activist but this is the guy that I believe the song Crazed Institution was most specifically about. I say he could stand about 10 years picking cotton in Missisippi, he strikes me as a guy who could stand a case of stark reality to close out his days. And I don't even want to know what he and the American version of him, Billy Joel, were asking for tickets on their recent money grabbing run. I will admit a couple of those early songs are exquisite, but such as I can surmise of him I cannot stand. I know, tell me how you really feel.
