Wind-Up, Back Door angels-Wind-up was a very strong encore. I agree. Though sadly I never heard it live. And some of the TAAB/APP encores were pretty special. Maybe we should have a poll on the best encores? There's a lot of really perfect last songs in the Tull catalogue...I guess the all time winner, despite my disliking the band, in general...would have to be 'The End'...a stunning song by the Doors. I remember seeing the beginning of 'Apocalypse Now', where that song is played, and thinking...wow....movies are being made for my generation, now.
Was Nursie the last song on LITP? I thought it was at the end of side one or two....don't have that one on CD and too lazy to check Wikipedia.

Interesting to see General Crossing making its move. Certainly a Tull oddment and curio. Gonna be a Generalski, nice. But there again neither Ian or I ever had to fight. God knows those who did merit a fanfare at dawn, often known as Taps.

How about a poll to describe the song you liked the least, on first hearing...and grew to love the most...after sufficient hearings....know what I mean? The first few times I heard Steel Monkey, I thought it was generic drivel, very lame ZZ Top tribute and completely unworthy of it's place on Crest...I remember skipping it when playing Crest for friends, soon after the release date, preferriong that they form impressions based on Farm, Jump and Budapest.....six months later, i was listening to Steel Monkey every singly day, before leaving for work, and not long after that, i filed papers to change my messenger service name fr om: 'E.C.Rider' to 'Steel Monkey'.
Speaking of work...jeez, I better wake up the kid and face the music ! ( is that a tweet? Am I modern?

Speaking of work...jeez, I better wake up the kid and face the music ! ( is that a tweet? Am I modern? Yes good idea I was thinking that myself. Spoke to a bloke a couple of days ago who said he stopped listening to Tull after they started to sound like Dire Straits!! He was referring to Crest. I was put off by Minstrel to a certain extent and also SFTW I remember thinking then that they had got too folkie and hey ninny nonny - that was then - I was young! I have no excuse etc etc However since then a wise old Tull fan said to me on the Live Chat that all Tull songs need a good few listens... to let it steep in and gently simmer into the conciousness! I agree So.................new thread
