Just a thought - should they put a hold on touring for a couple of years and concentrate on a new album, and keep the fans waiting in anticipation for a while

We have been waiting for a new release for years now, always on tour no time to do a new LP... So some time off would be good. A new LP with new Tunes would be great. Dont need any more best of LP's and don't need no re-release of This Was.... Oh The Good Ol' Days of a new tour with a new LP ... Oh we were 20 years younger But yes a short break would do them good and us too... No need for 200 shows a year .... .

I'm not holding my breath though. I would imagine there's probably alot more money to be made from touring so as long as Tull can fill 200 theatres a year that's probably what they'll keep doing.

Any musical organization of which I am aware in any area of music keeps their skills honed by regular live performance. Maybe they don't need to do as many shows as they do, just as long as its not my area they miss! Ian has been such an incredible steward of this ship that I believe it outside my jurisdiction to offer him any opinion. Much of their catalogue, particularly in his youth, was conceived on the road. I am afraid as one gets to a certain age, the muse makes much less regular visits, lets be thankful (for those among us who still consider them a vibrant live entity) that there still is a Tull to talk about.

Good Day to you Tullistray and welcome to the Board. Interesting choice of words to describe Tull. I hesitate, but seem to feel as you do regarding the Tull of today. Spin me back down the years.... Silken...

I agree totally with tullistray...and with the advent of so many new, as well as highly portable, electronic gadgets which can be used to create demos in your hotel room, I'd say that the muse just hasn't visited our boys very much as of late. It's been several years since we've heard any actual new material. God bless 'em though because there are enough of US left who are happy seeing them perform...and the last show I attended I saw several 'families' in attendance so younger generations are into them as well. Sorry, but I just had to interject this one in light of the "spin me back down the years" line above...LOL.
