I've already made a couple of posts, but thought a formal introduction would be smart. I grew up listening to Aqualung and MU on cassette tape, and randomly (really, I had never heard any Tull beyond those two albums and stuff on the radio) bought Songs from the Wood after a few beers with dinner out and was blown away by the disc. The last two years have seen me pick up roughly 25 Tull discs. They're now among my top five favorite musical artists.
Also, I'm deeply envious of all members here who've seen Tull live over and over again. Let's hope Ian decides to come back to the eastern midwest US soon!
Looks like some good, happy conversation happening here. I'm looking forward to joining in...

Orion ! Great 'handle;, great song! A song I can think about everytime I look into the night sky and remember how soundtrack of my life the lyrics felt when i was a young buck walking home from parties in SF and seeing the very same waiters patter down the street and the same lonely bus stops and everything else that amazing song conjures. Welcome to the Tull club: you're a star already (well, a bunch of stars).

Thanks, all, for the warm welcome. I can already tell this place is more down-to-earth than some other forums I've visited.

Hi, Orion. Nice to meet you. My Tull story is similar to yours, except I started about 2 or 3 years earlier than you. Since then it seems like one long cramming session - just like the old school days - but way more fun. Saw that you jumped right in with posting. Good for you! Blue

Thanks, Blue. Good to meet you as well.
Yeah, the cramming has been crazy. One weekend I picked up Catfish, A Little Light, Roots, and Dot Com all at once and played them over and over... and over. Drove my wife insane!

Welcome to the Tull club: you're a star already (well, a bunch of stars). Hmm, a song which is in essence a prayer to a benign celestial being. I could see why you love this song, God. It's one of my all-time favorites too, and comes in #2 behind A-lung on the greatest flute-free Tull (hey, new thread idea.) I just love the lyrics, singing and orchestration. It's one of those songs that you always have to hear twice....and then it keeps going through your head the entire day. Jeff
