Tickets go on sale tomorrow, for those of you in or around NYC. Got mine in a pre-sale today. First row lower balcony. Haven't seen Tull or Ian at the Beacon since 1995. Missed the 2000 shows there because I was in Italy on my freakin' honeymoon. So, when we returned, I took my wife on a second honeymoon two weeks later to Niagara Falls, and caught Tull at the Erie County Fair. Jeff

I would guess most of you are familiar with the whole Ticketmaster/Ticketsnow scam.
When I did a google search "ian anderson ticketmaster" you can bet that the Ticketsnow sight comes up first ahead of Ticketmaster. They currently have seats selling for as high as $600 before tickets have gone on sale.

You can buy tickets for any event and put them straight up there for a huge markup and ticketmaster takes a cut. What a rip off! Ticketmaster should be investigated for it, it's just touting by another name. And while I'm at it what a rip off booking fees are too for what is effectivley an automated service, no wonder I don't go to too many gigs any more. Grrrrrr

I'm assuming you'll be there too, so maybe we can meet up for a beer or two before the show. I'll go to the Beacon show and if there's some new material, maybe one other in the area, but that's it. I love the acoustic material, but I was hoping based on last year's tour that Ian had gotten the solo and orchestral stuff out of his system for awhile and that we would be back to Heavy Tull. But the promotional material does refer to new material, so that's good, and maybe there will even be a new solo album released. Jeff

Wish I could come to the NYC gig ! It is pretty irritating to pay thrice in service charges the price of my first few Tull gig tickets....I must be old. If I ever catch those bastards in charge of 'service charges'......I'll give them 'service'!

I think ticketmaster charges $11 per ticket in service/convenience chargers. What a joke. And I couldn't tell you for sure the last gig I went to. It might have been an Ian orchestral show a few years back. Sadly there's not too many people I want to see any more.

Frankly though, I haven't decided as of yet whether I'm going or not. But if I do, a beer sounds like a good idea. Strange...that after passing on Tull/Ian for the past couple years I'm still not sold on going. If it was Tull, or should I say Martin, then yes I'd definitely go. But I just don't relish the thought of watching Ian with a bunch of young kid's playing Tull music. Right now I'm more inclined to wait for a set-list, then I'll decide.

The price for the best seats is $125?!! Face Value. $143 when you add up the charges. That's absurd.

Prices will drop as the gig nears. Scalpers will need to unload them. The secondary ticket market is dead these days... I may try to go to this show. I haven;t been to the Beacon since I saw Spinal Tap there about 10 years ago!

So, Paul, I saw on another thread somewhere that you have decided to go to the Beacon show. I think it will be good because Ian sings better when he's not in competition with a heavy electric band, and if he's singing well and and if there are some new songs (there better freakin' be) then it should be an excellent show. As the time approaches let's make those plans to meet up for a beer or three. I want to meet the Monkey already. Jeff

You're right Jeff I did purchase tickets for this fall's tour, but I opted for the Red Bank Show since it's on a Saturday night.
But yes, I think we should meet up before one of these shows....

That's right, I forgot, you did say Red Bank. I may or may not be going to that one -- these days I usually go to only one show, whereas in the past I liked to see at least two in case one of them were an off night. But it's possible I'll go to both area shows this time....I know the Red Bank theater is supposed to be beautiful. I will let you know. Jeff
