Anyone into F1? Great start to the season in Oz (even if the Ferraris seemed a bit allergic to the track).
Post your predictions, disappointments!

I used to be and Hamilton's rise has got me partially interested again. My prediction might be a little predicable after Australia but it's Hamilton will take the driver's comfortably with McLaren being pushed closely for constructor's

My late husband and I used to watch every season for years and years and we always followed the Circuit. What a tragedy when Senna died. He was my most favorite of all time race car drivers. That's more like it (Malaysia) I was grumpily avoiding this thread because of Ferrari's shambloic Australia. Now, however, we've got the season started...go Kimi (not very patriotic I know but I can't stand Mclaren!)

Excellent, may I suggest a bit of amiable rivalry then? ;D I'm sure Ferrari (THE legend of motor racing) and mclaren (the dull corporate face of motor racing) will once again be having a close battle this year so we could have some fun with this.........assuming your lot can make their car go faster of course

But McC is the closest to a brit car and so I'll pin my hopes on that. Mow that Jag are over in India, we have little to consider in terms of prestige cars here in the UK. So a friendly cash-free wager than Mr Hill, I'm up for that...well maybe we could have a pint on it.

It's a deal.....in fact how about whoevers team is leading the constructors on the night of the RFH gig gets a beer from the other during the interval? Shame about Jag though, lets hope Tata make a better job of that than they did Rover.

I take it you are talking about my most favorite of all autos...Carrol Shelby's 289 & 427 Cobras? I'm actually going to spend labor day weekend at a vintage sports car race and car show, which will include a large number of Cobras - both original and replicas. I'll post some pictures when I get back.

I took in a day of racing and the next day I went antiquing in lieu of the car show. There was one Cobra racing; a '63 289. The driver lost control of it at the end of the straight-away during the 2nd lap. Luckily he didn't seem to do any damage. Well, maybe next year. And remember, there's plenty of replicas out there with your name on it!

Nice "baby Jag" you got there. I'm sure it's a blast to drive. What year is it? I have a '51 TD "watering" my garage floor on a regular basis. Maybe some day I'll get around to throwing a new 5 speed tranny in it and make it a bit more driveable - either that or I'll let someone else have a go at it. I'll find a pix and post it when I get a chance.

Unfortunately, it cracked a spring hanger mount at the rear and has sat in the garage for a few years awaiting some TLC. Next year, I've promised myself to do get it back on the road, when the house is finished!

I found some pics from 2 years ago. Nothing special since it was taken with my cell phone but you get the idea. Probably about 40 Cobras or so lining the raceway. Those are Mustangs I believe on the far right with more Cobras to the left.

Nice car!! It's great to see slicks back again, I never liked those grooved tyres. I wonder if those new smaller back wings will actually make any difference to the overtaking? Mind you I don't care what it looks like as long as it's faster than the Mclaren!
