There's just been a mention of 'The School Prom' on local TV and it seems the average spent on a teenager's prom is £450. It beggars belief

Just been listening to some smug Google clone talking about the new Google + - the supposed rival to Facebook anyway he's talking about a "mobil" phone not a "cell phone" as I thought they were called across the pond. Are they called "mobils" there too? or is that his ham fisted attempt to patronise the yokels over here? it's pronounced "mobilE" with an E here he is if your at all interested www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-14985494

Most annoying.

do not american members get upset with this poking fun at their language? I come across many english phrases that are annoying and many accents that are difficult to understand or are lazy sounding. do american's laugh at british accents like newcastle or cornwall people.

We don't mind...we think it's quaint.....like everything associated with the old world. Don't tell them, but here when we want to imply someone is pretentious or archaic or not as smart as they think, we put on a mock English accent...never fails to deliver the message, old cove...
