Brilliant, thank you Rebecca I didn't know about that. And it's great!! I love the Raconteurs as you've probably guessed by now, Consolers Of The Lonely could pssibly be my album of the year (hey, that's a gotta be a thread!) I guess Ashley Monroe must be a country singer judging by her singing style but I know nothing of such things.

Wow, a video already! I agree, it's very good. So you like this Americana stuff do you, Col? Hmm, we should talk about this.
Here, I'm going to try to add a video - You know Jack White was in Cold Mountain and when I bought the DVD it came with a concert that was put on featuring the music and such. Here is Jack White from that show, doing one of my favorite hillbilly songs:
I love this with the videos! I've spent a lot of time today looking and as you can see, came upon the instructions. Oh, what have you unleashed!

Too true Rebecca !! just see the Greatest Youtube Video thread on here What I always say that this whole "world wide web/youtube/Forum"etc etc way of communication is a glorious form of the equivalent thing we used to do in the 60's and 70's - ie go round to people's houses with a new vinyl LP under our arm and spend the rest of the night/next day listening to new music!!!!!!!!!!!! Ok it might be virtual friendship but it has it's compensations

Oh, what have you unleashed! Yes I do indeed but I am pretty new to it all really. Just liking folk music, a bit of Southern Rock and loving the Robert Plant/Alison Krauss album has got me intersted in a bit of bluegrass and the like. That Jack White vid was excellent thank you, the mans a musical guru to me!

It's not so wrong, is it, just saying "here I like this, what do you think?"

I was raised on it, Col, between my grandparents and my mother. All of them being from Kentucky and all, and living here myself most of my life, it's definitely in my blood. I want to see what you think of some of the old masters, but I don't know if this is the place to put the videos. I'll go over to regional music, since that is what it is (even though musicians are coming from everywhere now)...
