I know it's not a new release, but I do have a sort of review so, I figured this subforum would be the place. I really love this album. (there's my "review") It came on random on my IPOD the other day and I was inspired to find the CD to have in the car. Since then, I've listened to it 3 times through on my way to and from work, a total rediscovery. It does make me wish they would put together a new album soon, and not a damn christmas album. I hate christmas music! I couldn't have been any more disappointed when I heard the words "new Tull christmas album" a few years ago. So yeah, Dot Com rocks the house! It's like new old Tull! I want more of that in 2009!

I want more of that in 2009! Dot Com has its merits despite what its many detractors say about it. I really like AWOL and Hot Mango Flush. Dot Com is lyrically and musically very good as well. But I can't stand Hunt By Numbers and Spiral. Gift of Roses and the Dog Eared Years are nice songs and I like the lyrics to Bends Like a Willow. There are a number of retreads of older Tull songs. If you listen to the riff on Wicked Windows, for example, it is very similar to Teacher, with the notes re-arranged. Lyrically, though, it is an interesting song. Black Mamba is another song that just sounds too similar to too many other Tull songs. Having said that, I would at this point be thankful for any decent new Tull material, even if it were to be retreads of older songs. Jeff

There's a lot of people who highly praise praise and others who completely bomb this album. I'd say it's completely amazing. It's very fluid and creative. To me, Tull's not trying to please anyone's preconceived notion of what the album should have sounded like with this one. One of my favorites. That being said, I'm confident that if Tull goes into the studio and comes out with a real, inspired album, with new material, it will most likely be very good. They all know how to play their instruments very well, and a few of them even know how to write songs.

My review about can be similar to a resume of the formers opinions.I really love this Album. It really"gather"new and old Tull way.It is very"fresh",anyway.I've also found some songs reminding some olds or former J.T ones, but that's their sign!! Listening,it seems to get two different Albums, indeed. Hunt by numbers in my opinion is a super piece of music, but it is the only one that is not in the right place,in this Album.I don't know in witch one,but in Dot Com seems to me a bit "isolated",too far by the rest of the Album. :oBends Like a Willow remains for me one of the best J.T/I.A song ever.

Great album, but I can do without Hot Mango Flush. By the way, who is the subject of Wicked windows?

Great album, but I can do without Hot Mango Flush. By the way, who is the subject of Wicked windows? Ian Anderson himself about having to wear glasses.
