They should remix all of the albums. I would have less interest in the 80's & 90's albums, but I certainly believe that "Broadsword" should receive a deluxe package. Not sure how much extra material there is around from the other album's recording sessions, and the overall sound quality was better on those later albums. Also, my least favorite Tull album was "Under Wraps" and it could benefit from a dramatic new remix that reduces the keyboards and electric drum machines if Ian was willing to re-invent that album.

I hope they find it worthwhile to continue.......the extra tracks are such nice additions to the Tull stash, the live stuff uniformly better than bootlegs and the few week trip back to the time and space of the original release is fun for an old guy like me.

I'm a big fan of the live stuff too. Having attended many Tull concerts back in the day, I always felt the band was most powerful on stage, especially during the Jeffrey Hammond-Hammond-Hammond era. I have zero interest in remixes of anything post-Stormwatch, but would love to hear any unreleased concert material(from before Martin got the axe). Most of us already have copies of the Den Haag March 16 1980 show that will be released with the Stormwatch box set but I'm sure there is more live material deep in the archives that could be cleaned up and made available, Ian has confirmed it. That's my wish.

In a recent interview Ian half heartedly mentioned that he might consider speaking to SW about remixing Under Wraps with a real drummer. This signaled a continuation os remixes as far as I could tell.

Hi aztullfan and welcome to the JT Forum. It never fails to amaze me how much anger and ire there is over the latter albums along with an equal amount of love for them. For me they are a product of their time with all the new gadgetry explored musically by Ian Anderson but I must agree with those who say "replace the drum machine with a human drummer" as we will then have both styles/recordings to compare.

Agreed! I actually liked some of the later Tull Albums(Crest of a Knave and Roots to Branches), but the were not as consistently good as the classic Tull albums......and there is also the issue of Ian's diminished singing voice. Under Wraps is the only Tull album I simply didn't like.

One thing's for certain, no one can say that Ian Anderson's musical ideas stagnated at any time and that he is always willing to use new technology. So interested to hear what he comes up with for his new album next year.

Thankfully A, Benefit and Broadsword remixes will be out this year. I’m excited what Wilson will do to Broadsword. There will be 3-4 albums worth of studio material. This was the first Tull era where I thought the recording production wasn’t great. Some songs have good production though. Many strong compositions. Hopefully Wilson gets a good consistent sound throughout the studio material. This could be awesome. Tone down some of those drums Mr Wilson. I hope Wilson gets through the other 80s albums too. I hope they keep the drum tracks from Under Wraps. They just need to be toned down. Crest and Rock need reverb reduction

I think we can get a good sound with the drum tracks. The high and low frequencies are just too high. If anything is added I wouldn’t mind some cymbals here and there. I think it will come in 2024. I don’t mind some broadsword recordings. Songs like beastie and Jackalynn I’d like Wilson to fix though. Drums sound too hard and loud I think. Sword is meant to be out at the end of this year but I wouldn’t be surprised if it comes out early next year

I liked a lot of the drumming on Broadsword. The drums really 'sing' on Clasp and Pussy Willow...but I am not that much of an audiophile...I just notice what I notice.
