Hi - I am trying to acquire the recent Steve Wilson mixed Tull 5.1 box sets that I missed out on and have come across a couple (Benefit and Minstrel) for sale - both were in shrink wrap and appeared to be in brand new condition but both also lacked the booklet - I checked Discogs but there is no mention of these sets being produced without the booklet - So, are these box sets authentic or knockoffs? Thanks -

Have a browse at Burning Shed (click on button within the navigation bar at the top of the main page below the banner) and you'll see the albums although if they are still available I don't know. Benefit has not had the deluxe booklet as yet but who knows in the future.

Or is that something else? The reason why I am pressing the matter is because there is mention of a booklet on the Discogs page for Benefit and I had heard that there were knockoffs made of the Tull box sets (perhaps because aftermarket prices have become quite expensive) - I just want to make sure I am getting the real deal with my purchases - Thanks - Sam

Hi SF, It seems that many of the Steven Wilson CD/DVD/Booklet albums have sold out so I would recommend trying to get any you can/want as soon as possible. For example, I have looked on Amazon UK tonight and someone is asking almost £2440 for a copy of the Benefit CD/DVD album you are talking about. It is also on sale for around £38 on ebay UK but only a few copies seem to be available.
It seems that TAAB, Benefit & Stand Up are especially hard to find while Burning shed still have Too Old and Heavy Horses available at the original price. I have all the sets apart from Stand-Up that I just cant find at a realistic price.
What is interesting too (to me at least) is that you can buy the Steven Wilson remix albums at quite low prices (ie the mix without the various formats, 5.1, books, etc.). I have seen these on offer at £7 in HMV in the UK. It looks like the box sets were very limited in number so they have really become collectors items.
My favourite box set is Minstrel (though tbh all are excellent). The Live CD/DVD (audio only) concert from Paris in 1975 is incredible and the other "extras" just make the package.
