OK that's it from me for a wee while, wee being the optimum word. They've found some stones in my bladder which may have caused the urosepsis I had a couple of months back, and they need to come out, or be blitzed, using modern surgical technology and at the same time the surgeon is going to check my prostate to see if I need a little nip 'n' tuck in that department.
Me, I blame Ian Anderson and his prostate awareness campaign during the TAAB 1+2 tour.
See you all in a week or so, unless of course the op gets cancelled again, when I'll log on tomorrow

Best wishes and hopes for full and pain free results, Graham. Kid and I off to NYC for two weeks but I expect time and electrons available to check in throughout vacation. We have tickets for not one, but two Broadway musicals, costing a large fortune and at the risk of reorienting my sexual orientation. Yes, I spoil the kid but teaching her that money is no object for something you really want to see was a lesson she learned through observation quite some time ago. But a world that values 2 hours of watery rap about Alexander Hamilton over a good Tull concert?...well, at least I am not alone on that topic.

Well I finally got home late(ish) last night, still feeling sore from the operation but with sufficient quantities of legal pain killers managed a good nights sleep although the soreness had returned by this morning. They found two stones in my bladder which the surgeon blitzed and they shaved off a piece of my prostate to enable me to pee properly for the first time in 3 months so if I feel the urge to go I can't hang around. The general anesthetic was an experience - I was on the operating table and I had a mask put on my face and told to breath deeply - the next moment (so it seemed) I was in the recovery room being woken by a nurse. After a few moments and after checking I was OK she asked me if I wanted a drink and all I can remember was say "coffee please" which I had drinking through a straw. Thanks to everyone who sent me their best wishes etc - much appreciated and "thank you" - and "happy birthday" to members who had one during my absence and finally "hello and welcome" to new members who joined up. Let me draw the jungle line I won't cross yours if you don't cross mine. Won't make trouble, I don't need no fuss. But I'm wounded, old and I'm treacherous.OK so I'm not treacherous but this song was swimming around my head this morning

The surgeon told me to drink a lot of fluid when I went home and that it would hurt when I passed water, so on my way home I bought a 2 litre bottle of strong cider and drank it as quickly as I could. Yes it did hurt when I passed urine but I didn't give a sh*t

Greetings from NYC...Figured 3000 miles closer to England would amplify prayers for your restored health. I passed through New York on Saturday on my way to Whitley Bay. Oh yes! We have a New York in County Durham And here's a few of my photo's of the reason I went to Whitley Bay. To see the refurbished Spanish City and Whitley Bay Bringing back lots of childhood memories Mark Knopfler even wrote a song about the Spanish City when there was a fairground behind.

Glad to read you are home, better, medicated and able to drain the water from the potatoes with minimal fuss. Thank you Bernie. Potatoes now well and truly drained without the aid of bits of tubing and such like.
