The words "home", "dog" and "rain" are all very common to Tull songs.

WTF!? On Tull songs: Possibly "mouse" and "cat" (or their variations)
On Ian's solo stuff: Drfinitely "cat", "dog" (or their variaions), "girl"

Not a word, but an image in lots of songs, is the woman who just left...the bed footprint, scent, memory, vibe, etc...of the already gone woman, like in Pussy Willow, Bends Like a Willow, Waking Edge and many more...it's a great image....loooking at the empty double bed and still seeing the smooshed pillow and dented mattress and wonder if and when she'll be back....

Been playing a lot of Tull and trying to keep the ears open and Time is every where. Aqualung is taking his time cause that is the only way he knows. and we know he has time for every thing even at Christmas time with Jack Frost and the Hooded Crow. Guess when the time seems right to make a broken spirit whole and that time is due. C'm'on, Big Riff took it on a dare in the night-time. So there is a time for everything oooppppsss wrong band ;D But in this day and age we have for sure Fallen on hard times - So we'll all sit down and try to play in time, You put your bet on number one and it comes up every time. Have a Fun Time Tullies ;D

If you take a look at the lyrics, just about every song on that album has to do with time or the passage of time in one way or another. Jeff

smoke.............. from down the smoke below smoke oozing from his stack wood smoke curled from blackened chimneys Glad you quoted Birthday Card at Christmas my precious Non Rabbit, a seriously under valued tune off the Christmas album. While I adore most of the record, with the maybe exception of First Snow on Brooklyn which I would mark as merely very good. I completely understand Ian's reasoning as regards new albums, and feel the Christmas album broached that problem very well indeed. And at least one of those pairings with Anoushka and her friends definitely burns. You can kind of see what might constitute a new Tull record, (I would not mind if all recent visitors were invited on board, the 3 violinists, Willy Porter and Anoushka), but Tull fans in general would be unaware or uninterested, Ian is correct. In the meantime howz about a throat grabbing version of Birthday Card to open one of the Italian Christmas shows? Plus I have always felt Saboteur would have worked well live.
