Perusing Hoffman thread: Neil Young 'batsh*t crazy vs integrity unique' with subset Pono 'Piece of Crap vs Good Thing' will keep me in fun all day at work. Thanks. I would actually consider a Pono if the almost 400 bucks came with Neil's FULL catalog and a nice allowance to access other music as a start.Wouldn't that be fair?

I guess the battleground noises might be generic...but they sure sound like the ones under 'would you like another cup of tea, dear?' to me. One of the songs on Bowie's' Blackstar' has an outro that evokes 'computer run amok' that sounds EXACTLY like the end of 'User Friendly', too.

Thanks for these 2 rare and amazing videos. I saw Humble Pie only once in 1973 with The J. Geils Band who opened up. Quite a show indeed Although Peter Frampton had left, Steve Marriott was really the focus of every show. Thanks Patti

I swear I discover a new name or musical genre every day!! Is it that we have to name everything nowadays when once we were quite happy just to say it was an unique style to a particular musician or band? Anyway - rant over may I present Freak Folk ( for those who haven't heard) "Freak folk is a genre of folk music which uses mainly acoustic instrumentation, but introduces elements of avant-garde music and psychedelic folk, often featuring uncommon sounds, lyrical themes, and vocal styles" I kinda know what they mean and see the similarities with the likes Vashti Bunyan, The Decemberists, Nick Drake and Sufjan Stevens to name only a few in this category. I found this out by listening to the beautiful sounds of Vashti Bunyan, Nick Drake and Sufjan Stevens. I do rather like Freak Folk I think this is a beautiful song but the subject matter is very grim and heartbreaking Just as I was posting this up pops yet another genre!! "Shoegazing" a style of rock music characterized by a sound in which the distinctions between separate instruments and vocals are blurred: we’re influenced by an array of different genres ranging from shoegazing to 90s acid house a rich sound that encompasses elements of shoegaze, psychedelia, and krautrock" 1990s: from the supposed tendency of the performers to look down (especially in order to operate guitar effects pedals) rather than at the audience. Hahaha

I must apologize for this after seeing the Bay City Rollers... In 1974 I met a girl that had posters of this band on her walls. She took them down because of me... In 1978 we got married...

It's morning in Denmark, and I'm listening to an old favorite of mine... Brian Eno, Before And After Science... I had this on a record a long time ago... The first record side is very rhythmic, but the second record side becomes slower, and more and more surrealistic... Here is the entire second side of this fabulous album... gradually getting slower and slower... I hope you enjoy it...
Here he comes:
Here he comes the boy who tried to vanish to the future or the past Is no longer here with his sad blue eyes Here he comes he floated away and as he rose above reason He rose above the clouds he was seven feet high Here he comes the night is like a glove and he's floating like a dove That catches the wind in the deep blue sky Here he comes the boy who tried to vanish to another time Is no longer here with his sad blue eyes
Here he comes here he comes Here he comes the boy who tried to vanish to another place Sees us following him all one at a time Here he comes and we're checking out each others supplies And looking at the eyes of all the others standing in the line Here he comes the night is like a glove and he's floating like a dove With his deep blue eyes in the deep blue sky Here he comes the boy who tried to vanish to the future or the past Is no longer alone among the dragonflies Here he comes here he comes
Who will remember him...
Julie with...
I am on an open sea Just drifting as the hours go slowly by Julie with her open blouse Is gazing up into the empty sky.
Now it seems to be so strange here Now it's so blue The still sea is darker than before...
No wind disturbs our coloured sail The radio is silent, so are we Julie's head is on her arm Her fingers brush the surface of the sea.
Now i wonder if we'll be seen here Or if time has left us all alone The still sea is darker than before...
Spider and I:
Spider and i sit watching the sky On a world without sound We knit a web to catch one tiny fly For our world without sound We sleep in the mornings We dream of a ship that sails away A thousand miles away.

IGGY POP knows how to impress the GIRLS just like Ian Anderson I'm not so sure about that, Jim... Isn't this a clear example of two women ganging up on an innocent man... I'm sure he'll feel bad about it in the morning... What women do to us poor men... It's just despicable...

I still can't work out whether he (Ian) was being serious about a remake of this - I think he might be taking the proverbial *iss I'm not saying that it couldn't be done. The late, great Scottish/Canadian fusion musician Martyn Bennett who was also a piper, violinist and producer made some innovative mixes of the very traditional Scottish music and gave it a modern sound to great effect. I can't say why, but I just love the first album of David Bowie... and I really don't understand it... Is it the innocence of the album, it is, is it, is it...?? I really don't know... but I really, really love this album... Give it a chance, maybe you'll love it too...

Woke up after a long night and a very disturbing dream after watching the news.I'm usually a very optimistic person... until now! I remember I was asking why, And someday you said I'd know All these years, of fighting so hard, And now it's finally come too close!
I can't believe it's now happening to me, Oh, couldn't it wait a few hundred years Destiny can't rest you see, now it's time, Time to cry your tears! Now cry!
The child of centuries, forgotten in time, You talk in circles of rhyme Seer of places future and past, The warning you gave us is surely our last Warning!
Behold the child, his pointing hand, Is raised in solemn grace His eyes once wide with learning wonder, Now leave stains upon his face
Now see the hands of the working man, He's leaning back against the wall Once busy hands are idle now, Standing ready for the fall! Our fall!
The signs will come as days past by, For those that claim to see The blind will stay not choosing to die, Not believing the visions I've seen Warning!

This guy needs to be squeezed out like a bad pimple. Nixon was booted...can the people of the USA do it again? There is no respect for the behavior we have seen. If we have to endure this for 4 years there will be serious consequences. Impeachment should be an option.

I've been speaking with a very talented lady recently about the show @ Butlin's Minehead. Rebecca and the band will be on the main stage before the headline Jethro Tull. LINK 1 She made me aware of the Sunday show on the Main Stage this weekend ahead of the Official Website. I came across a great video recorded September 16, 2016 @ The Convent Club in South Woodchester. Rebecca Downes LINK 2 LINK 3 OMG !!!

listening to.....
The soundtrack from Local Hero. There is ONE song I can count on that will make me weep (for no other reason than its sheer beauty)at the end of every concert. And that song is Going Home.
Wanna see a grown man cry at a rock concert? Put Mark on tour in the States.
