I was digging through my blank cassettes and found this Tull mix I made a couple decades ago. Can't for the life of me find the track listing with the dates of the shows I took the songs from. A little help please? Thanks in advance.
1. My God - At the end of the song he goes, "Oh Christ..Uh....Jesus.......This is a rough deal, isn't it, eh? ...one of these music leapers, right, and there's no pension at the end of it, ya know", in his usual out-of-breath nature.
2. Farm On The Freeway - Introduces the song, "...First of these concerns itself, albeit loosely, with the terrible plight of the middle-American farmer. Oh, poor misunderstood purveyor of agrichemicals. This one is called, Farm On The Freeway."
3. To Cry You a Song - After the song he says, "This is one of our feeble attempts at the blues like all the rest. We shall plough on with this one, features organ playing from our white-suited John Evans, who better make the introduction himself, I think.
4. Wond'ring Aloud, Again - Was this performed live, often? Any guesses as to the date?
5. Hunting Girl - At the 3:00 mark, a cell phone rings and he answers it and says, "Hello? Yes? What does she look like? Long black hair and a sort of a black see-thru thing. Front Row...yes, I've got her. She's with your husband. Ah-Ha. Ya better speak to her yourself. ok?.....It's for YOU." Then, the band kicks back into the song...singing..."unbridled passion......"
6. One Brown Mouse - "We'll do this song which is another one about animals. This one is a wee cortivorus?? beastie. Robert Burns once wrote about such animal. This is a version of the same bloody thing."
7. one brown mouse goes right into, "That was called One Brown Mouse. And.....this one is bound to keep you awake. This one is called No Lullaby".
8. no lullaby goes right into a flute solo improvisation and God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen.
9. Bouree - "Here's a little song dedicated to Mr. Bach, whose 300th birthday it is. We're sorry he can't be with us. But, due to a prior engagement, he is not. So, we'll play this one for him anyway. It was a big hit in France. Hahaha! It's called Bouree....by Harry". (must be circa 1985).
10. He's whistling. Then says, "Thanks a lot, um. hang on. Yeah, this is another one from the next LP, I think. It's one of these crash bang songs, ya know. Hello love, (blows kisses to someone in the audience). I get the girls, ya know. I do. I get the girls. This one is called Nothing Is Easy. Anyway."

Though I recognized most of the quotes, I am nevertheless impressed with the detailed knowledge thrown around on this thread. Makes my day to know there are Tull fans out there in the vast universe who apparently care about Tull as much as I do. See everybody...I'm NOT THE ONLY ONE/.......HAHAHA HA HA HA

I think there are lots of Tull fans from our planet out there...but by nature, Tull fans are iconoclasts, self-amusing, independent and not likely to be joiners...even of Tull forums...thank God guys like Snowy emerge now and then, increase our knowledge and remind us the Tull world is big even if our forum is a relatively small club.

No, I'm not 100% sure what iconoclast means...if it is a single cell animal you see under a microscope, sorry.

Back in the early 70s I used to find Ian Anderson quite the clever guy because his witty remarks seemed so spontaneous. That is, until I started trading concert tapes and found that he made the same remarks, often verbatim, night after night on tour. That seemed somehow disingenuous to me until I figured out his between-song banter was just part of the act.
