Unfortunately some, but not all, Photobucket servers are down due to maintenance (again) which is why very few images are on the Forum at the present time.
Images hosted by other image hosting sites do appear to be OK.
Sorry about that - out of my control

Sorry about that - out of my control As of 14.30 photobucket is still down (and kaput) so I've regained the "look" of the Forum by using an alternative image hosting site.
Apologies if this messes up the sizing on your own pc/laptop/phone but judicious use of the "Ctrl" and "+" or "-" keyboard buttons may help.

OK, so 08.15 here in the UK and Photobucket is up and running. I will leave the banner image and page background on the alternative image host site in the event that Photobucket goes down again.
Wonderful things technology, the internet, cell phones et al

Photobucket has changed their ToS so that users with free account can only use their account to host images, not link them on outer sites. If you want to be allowed to take your image URL and use it in your themes, say, or even for images on your forum, you need to have a paying account, their 500 account.

Photobucket has changed their ToS so that users with free account can only use their account to host images, not link them on outer sites. If you want to be allowed to take your image URL and use it in your themes, say, or even for images on your forum, you need to have a paying account, their 500 account. The article below explains what's going on. www.ghacks.net/2017/06/30/photobucket-now-charges-399-for-third-party-hosted-images/PhotoBucket now charges $399 for third-party hosted images by Martin Brinkmann on June 30, 2017 in Internet - Last Update:June 30, 2017 4 If you have visited a website recently that displays images hosted on Photobucket, or are embedding images hosted on Photobucket on your own, you may have had a rather rude awakening one day as Photobucket decided to block these images from being displayed on third-party sites. All Photobucket images hosted on third-party sites, at least from what we can tell, are replaced by a dummy image. It reads: Please update your account to enable 3rd party hosting. For important info, please go to www.photobucket.com/P500. According to some users that we spoke with who are affected by this, this happened without prior notice or any form of warning on Photobucket's part. Photobucket defines third-party hosting (what is with using 3rd instead of third?) as embedding an image or photo on another website. This includes embedding photos on forums, eBay, Etsy, Craigslist or another other site on the Internet that is not Photobucket.com. When you open the referenced page on the Photobucket website, you are informed that you may restore the third-party hosted content by becoming a Plus 500 subscriber. A Plus 500 plan allows for unlimited third-party hosting, and provides members with other benefits such as an ad-free browsing environment on the Photobucket site, priority customer support, or full resolution photo storage. Photobucket offers three paid plans to members, but only the most expensive plan supports third-party hosting of images. It is available for $39.99 per month, or at a discount when billed yearly for $399.99. According to Photobucket, the site has more than 100 million unique users who have stored more than 15 billion images on its servers. For users who are affected by this, it is important to note that the images are not gone. They are still hosted on Photobucket, and you can actually load them right then and there by right-clicking on them and selecting "open image in new tab" or "open link in new tab" depending on the web browser that you are using. This opens the Photobucket website where the original image is displayed. The problem right now is however that Photobucket has been used as a host for images for years on many sites on the Internet. And it is not even the case that the site owner can do something about it if other members of the site have embedded photos from Photobucket as the disabling is account linked. All members of a site who used Photobucket in the past would have to sign up for the -- rather expensive I might say -- Plus 500 plan to restore the old functionality. This is not practicable at all, and it won't happen. As far as alternatives are concerned, there is Imgur for instance which supports the embedding of images on third-party sites. While members of Photobucket may wait and hope that the company reverses the stance on third-party hosted images, it is probably better to migrate the photos to another hosting service entirely. You can download your entire library of images by selecting Library on Photobucket, and there the download album link under actions. Closing Words Photobucket may make a quick buck from the unannounced change, as some members may feel pressured in paying up so that their images are displayed again on third-party sites. I think however that many more will leave Photobucket and use another service instead for image hosting. This may be fueled by site-wide bans of the service. The plan is overpriced in my opinion, not only because there are free alternatives available out there, but also because you may sign up for a VPS or web hosting account instead for a fraction of the price that Photobucket charges. Even if it would be priced reasonably, and Photobucket has any right to adjust its pricing, blocking images without prior notice or migration options, especially since this was free before, is not the most elegant of ways to go about it.

Back in May I had to renew my membership which had been active for $2.99 per month for several years.
I was told the increase for monthly payments would be $3.99 per month for the same storage and use.
When I received an email from them, I was allowed to pay $39.99 for a total year of service. This would be just be just a little more than $3.00 per month in general.
I renewed the subscription for 1 year as far as I know. Hopefully they will not change the rules on me now !
Thank you for your purchase, below is your Photobucket Transaction Information. If you have any questions, please contact our Support team at support@photobucket.com.

Unless photobucket do a complete U turn, there's nothing we or for that matter thousands of other people can do. It is a case of money grabbing b*****ds holding subscribers to ransom and for what it's worth it's the misjudgement of photobucket's appalling customer service. They've tried to cram far too many ads on the site (upwards of 42 when I logged on there) so people have used Adblocker to speed up downloading and as such the advertising revenues must have fallen dramatically and this is the reason I think they done the dirty on all subscribers except those who wish to pay $399 a year for the privilege.

I have Adblock and PB tell you to turn it off before you can proceed. I wouldn't mind that if there was only the odd add but their adds cover the page! You even get the full page popup adds where you have to click proceed to the site . They must have done a "good deal" with some add company and it's going to backfire on them

I should think the abreviation to Photobuck is deliberate On June 28 2017, Photobucket changed its Terms of Use regarding free accounts and 3rd party hosting(hosting on forums, ebay, etc). Only the most expensive plan, at $399.99 per year, now permits 3rd party hosting and linking to forums etc. In one day Photobuck broke the picture links to billions of picture posted online. Photobuck sent out no emails to warn users of this change. This resulted resulting in millions of users being forced to ether pay up to restore links or find a new picture host. Somewhere between 200 million to 1 billion picture links on forum and Twitter etc are broken and replaced with please update your account to enable 3rd party hosting picture.

Helpful hint from Proboards support: If you right click on the image P'Bucket puts in the image's place on the 3rd party's site, you can open the address in a new tab and see the image and download it to your computer.

Having spent a fair bit of my time over the last couple of days regarding the photobucket shenanigans, here are a few salient points.
If, as a member, any of you have posted images which have now been replaced by a grey box from photobucket, John/Bunkerfan and I are attempting to work out a solution to this so that you can easily and quickly upload your images using an alternative image hosting site, but it is a time consuming business. Feel free to PM me if you need help or have some really good and quick methods on how to do this.
Secondly, it is not possible to reinstate images by former or self deleted members who used photobucket so unfortunately posts containing these images will probably have to be deleted, which is a great shame as there's some cracking stuff which may get lost.
Thirdly, and probably most importantly at this time, those members whose photobucket images still show on the forum would, in my opinion, be advised to back them up to another image host who allows so called hot linking as there's no telling what photobucket may or may not do in the future.
I'm now off for a cup of tea and a lie down.

I hope there is a Legal challenge to this soon. People have been misled and given no real options other than to lose a service which they have depended on for years. GREED is what this is all about!

Just to keep everyone up to date, Graham and I are slowly going through some of the threads to re-post the 'lost' Photobucket images. So if you see either 'last edit by bunkerfan or maddogfagin' on your post then the image you've posted has been re-done that's all. Cheers John
