Hi forum!
Looking forward to the album. I was surprised to see that the signed version is barely more expensive than the regular one. I'm not much for autographs, but why wouldn't one go for it when it't this cheap? Quite unusual. Sam/atcn

The latest press release from the Pledge Music people states that the signed CD version is no longer available so those who purchased the signed copy may have a bargain on their hands. You will find many things of interest to see here - enjoy

Sam/atcn Yeah, looking forward to my signed copy which as you say is "barely more expensive than the regular one". Pity about the £3.22 shipping and handling charge though. Welcome to The Jethro Tull Forum Sam. Cheers bunkerfan/John

For consistencies sake, in a couple of days I shall move all these posts to the "Ian Anderson's Solo Albums" Forum area under a revised title of "The String Quartets" - now we have absolute confirmation of the release it can join its cousins over there. Tally ho and all that malarky

Tally ho and all that malarky That's actually something I was wondering about - looking just at the cover, the album seems to be under the Jethro Tull name, not IA. I wonder where it will be catalogued at Spotify and such? Thanks again for the warm welcome! Sam/atcn

Sam/atcn I do feel it will cause some confusion in the music press/blogs etc but it's IA's music without any input from JT members apart from John O'Hara, so I think it's safe to classify it as a solo work. (BTW from now on IA to be referred to as The Party Leader as per one of Bernie's posts )

It was always such a beautiful arrangement - starting at 0.32 It's beautiful and his voice - it's the same except just a wee bit older and mature when you remember how it sounded the first time around - I like that.

I'm gonna try not to listen to any of it in advance, but I'm pretty sure I'll succumb before march Regarding the problems with spotify eariler in the thread, by the way... spotify is generally not a difficult program to use, so someone probably just made a mistake while uploading the song. If it's on spotify, it should be searchable. Most likely someone forgot to tick a "make song publicly available" box or somesuch... Sam/atcn

I moaned plentiful about waiting for Homo Erraticus and not spoiling things by listening before and now here I've done the same thing. I'll link the HE thread if you haven't seen it already. Homo ErraticusErraticus ComplexusDo let us know your thoughts on it. Thanks for the advice re Spotify, my issue was it not accepting any of my emails in order to register - I will try again.

Absolutely, love me some Homo Erraticus, will visit plenty of threads in time! Yeah I don't know what the email problem is about.. but regardless, the song doesn't seem to be available on spotify at all, at least not to me! Sam/atcn

OK - first listen to "Pass The Bottle" off the Quartets Album, as linked on this thread............ 9/10, and to get it to 10/10 would require buying the CD or other formats, for higher resolution. Strings have a lot of texture, to hear that at Pono resolution (24/96 or higher) would be really good. Somehow, the highest possible resolution ("we shall climb Everest") should be available for download?

teamrock.com/news/2016-12-13/jethro-tull-release-christmas-song-pass-the-bottleJethro Tull release Christmas song Pass The BottleNews / 16 hours ago / by Christina O'Neill Anderson said of the record: "A couple of years ago I came up with the idea of recording a dedicated string quartet album in a contemporary but classical setting, with brief appearances from myself.
“John came up with a few suggestions of his own which presented challenges. All had an intimacy and presence which I looked forward to recapturing in the cosy and very personal space of my office desk where I did the overdubs."
